If you are traveling on the island of O'ahu  take THE BUS.  That is what it is called.  It travels the whole island for a few dollars.  You get a one day pass or three day pass for a few dollars at the local corner ABC store and get on or off any of the buses that stop at the bus stop every 20 minutes or so.  Everything is in walking distance and it takes you too all the tourist destinations.  Even the locals take THE BUS.
