the only way to see it is by foot. One can park and see all points of major interest in about an hour. While it has the look of a typical tourist trap, one can with a little interest in history find key sites that tell the story of the Comstock. It is recommend one visit the main street with a vision of what it appeared like before the invasion of the auto. Also a visit to the Church on the south end of town is highly recommend.A visit south to Gold HILL A few miles down the hill toward Carson City will provide a better recommendation of historical accuracy. It is suggested one visit the area in the non Summer months to have a more enjoyable time free of excessive people. ONE ADDITTIONAL THING THE Pondrerosa ranch at Incline Village is a non-event. Futher exploration of the history of area can be done either at the Nevada Railroad musuem on US  395 between Reno and Carson City or the Nevada Historical Society on the University of Nevada -Reno Campus.
