Family Dining

Families visiting Disneyland have several good options for dining.

Fast Food

Across the street from the park on Harbor Blvd is McDonalds.  It's clean and large and they are convenient.  Also, South of the Park (to the right) on Harbor is Jack in the Box and Carl's Jr. and Del Taco

The most well-known Southern California chain is In-n-Out Burger, Family owned, very limited menu, but VERY good.  The closest to Disneyland is about 3 miles north up Harbor Blvd to Orangethorpe.

Another good choice is Fatburger near Knott's Berry Farm in Buena Park (about a 10 minute drive).  If you go there, get the egg!!!!

Another really good choice for a hamburger is actually going to Knott's Berry Farm, and eating at the world's largest Johnny Rockets. Great burgers and shakes.     There is also a Johnny Rockets that is closer, at the Block at Orange.  Very 50's and very fun!

Chain Restaurants

Joe's Crab Shack is known for good food and a fun atmosphere.  One is located a couple miles south of the Disneyland Resort on Harbor at Chapman.

Buca di Beppo is really good, and they have a restaurant very close to Disneyland. It's a fun place for a meal, and they have a variety of Italian dishes (including pizza) served family style.  The lemon green beans and the chicken saltimbocca are popular.

Red Robin is great for families.  Always good burgers and sandwiches in a fun environment.

Mimi's Cafe serves, what is thought by many, to be the best food in the resort by a chain restaurant.  Far above IHOP or Denny's for about the same price.  Great Salads!  Just north (left) of the main entrance in front of the Fairfield.  Don't mistake this for Millie's - which is not up to the quality and consistency of Mimi's.

Other Restaurants

For a great sit-down Chinese restaurant 2 miles from Disneyland,  try Chu's Wok Inn near the Crystal Cathedral on the Orange/Anaheim/Garden Grove border. It's at 13053 Chapman Avenue at Haster which is 1/2 mile east of Harbor Blvd.

Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel/Downtown Disney is another good choice for families.  After 5pm most days they offer a All You Can Eat Buffet featuring Prime Rib, chicken, pizzas, and other nice stuff for around $30.   Priority Seating reservations are highly recommended at (714) 781-DINE.

Anaheim Garden Walk will open 6 new restaurants on Katella Avenue just east of Disneyland on November 15th, 2007, some upscale, some more the middle of the road.  Bubba Gump's, The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, M&S Grill (run by McCormick & Schmick's), P.F. Chang's and Roy's of Hawaii.

The entire Anaheim Garden Walk complex of shopping, entertainment and dining will open in May of 2008, bringing a lot more choices, including a food court and additional options.
