Upon arrival at either airport, travelers may rent a car to reach the area, or proceed to the nearest train station (see below for information on train travel to Portofino). There is a train station right inside the Pisa airport, while in Genoa you must take a cab or the #100 airport bus to Genoa' s Principe train station).

By car:    Take the  A12 autostrada (motorway) to get  to the area. Exit at Rapallo and follow signs for Santa Margherita and Portofino.  For more information consult an itinerary planner such as  www.mapquest.com  or www.viamichelin.com .

By boat:   Travelers heading to Portofino in the summer can get there via boat from Genoa or Santa Margherita.  Ferry service begins operation in April of each year and goes on through September. www.traghettiportofino.it , www.alimar.ge.it , www.battellierigenova.it .
