Generally, Frankfurt is located in one of the warmer areas of Germany. Just like in any other part of Germany, the temperatures are very much influenced by a constant airflow from the Atlantic Ocean. This means that temperatures almost never get unbearable.
Average temperatures vary between 3 C / 37 F day; -2 C / 28 F night in January and 25 C / 77 F day; 15 C / 59 F night in July. There is always a certain likelihood of rain - on average it rains between 8 days per month in March and 11 days per month in August. Still, the likelihood of sunshine is highest in the summer months (7-8 hours per day between June and August).

- Museumsuferfest (usually last weekend in August; due to World Cup 2006: July 7 to July 9)
- Nacht der Museen (end of April)
- Buchmesse (International Book Fair; in October; 2006: October 4 to October 8)
- (...)
