We live in Tampa and every time we go to the Caribbean - 3-4 times a year, we sit in the airport and see planes going to Marsh Harbour. We always wondered were Marsh was and why people were going there so I got on the internet and the choices for lodging were slim - we booked the Abaco Beach Resort and Marina as one of the only choices and after our trip, we were really glad we did - it is the neatest place. Beautiful grounds and beautiful people. If you are looking for rest and relaxation, it is the place. If you are a boater, the marinas are fabulous - our newly acquired boater friends raved about them. The accommodations were fabulous. It's a hidden treasure and I hope few people discover it. As a landlubber, I loved the extra touch of they hibicus flowers scattered throughtout the room. Our room was incrediblly clean, in spite of our trapsing through the sand to the beach, and the hammocks suspended between the palm trees and swaying in the breezes - paradise at it's best.
The swim up bar was aways busy and always there was an icy cold Kalik Gold awaiting us upon our return.. I can still hear the beauriful harmonies of the bands playing at the bar almost every night. I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to get away from it all. It was a great place.

The stay here was... alright... well first of all, the whole island is VERY pricey! I mean come on, a gallon of gasoline was about $5.40!! And the room was not what we excpected nor what we had paid for. It was a huge turnoff. We also saw that almost everyone that was at the resort had docked their boat at the marina and they stayed there in their boat. A good thing was that we rented a boat at the "Sea Horse Boat Rentals" at the marina and it was a blast! Definitely worth it. The people at the "Above and Below Abaco" dive center were great! Especially Kay. She treated us as if we had known each other our entire lives. The "Anglers" restaurant was a very good experiance. It was one of the best restaurants on the island. But the best was definitely "Wally's" the was located about 5 minutes away from the hotel if you walk. The website makes it look better then what it really is. The beach was full of algae about 2 feet from the shore. Overall, it was alright, but I would recommend that if you have a boat, bring it and dock it here. It is way better. And by the way, there was not a lot of people to be seen while walking around the resort. For example, I think I might be exaggerating if I say that there was about 2 people at the bar per day. Thanks for reading me and my family's thoughts on the Abaco Beach Resort.

“2 week stay at Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour”

My Wife and I enjoyed our 2 week stay at the Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour from May 20th to May 30th/2007.
We did have a little glitch in checking in on Sunday May 20th as we had prepaid the Hotel and the MAP Plan and the front desk did not seem to have this info.
All was sorted out quickly to our relief.
As far as the accomodation was concerned loved it,beautiful clean room and wonderful view,Housekeeping staff very good.Anglers Restaurant where we has breakfast and Supper was very good.Staff friendly with good humour, interested in the guests especially the Supper staff. We both enjoyed the meals and variety of the menu, thank you Chef.
Main swimming pool seemed crowded but the pool was kept in great shape .There was a secondary quiet pool but I never saw anyone in it.,did not seem to be kept up as well.At the main pool there is a bar where people could order food, noticed the staff were a little tardy on cleaning up tables around the pool however many of the patrons just left there half eaten meals everywhere so in some instances cannot blame the staff.
During our stay there were fishing tournaments going on and the boat harbour was certainly alive with activity.
The grounds were pretty clean in May but did notice more trash especially styrofoam food containers but clean up seemed to be pretty quick.
All in All we enjoyed our trip and would go back and stay at this resort again.

“Great place to just kick back”

This is the first place I have stayed in the outer islands and was concerned that a place that looked very beautiful on their website only rated 3 stars. When we frist checked in a got to our room I was amazed at how nice the room was. Definately a 4 star room. However after that I came to realize why the 3 star rating. The grounds weren't kept up very well, for example the trash that was in the grass below our room was there our entire stay. Where the web site said they had an on-site tennis pro, once there I found there was no program at all. They ran out of beach towels when to me it didn't seem that crowded. The internet only worked in the hotel lobby which was a quarter mile walk from our room. All in all a nice stay and a nice place which could probably be world class under better management. When you factor in the pretty high cost I'm not sure I would come back.

“Amazing Wedding!”

Abaco Beach Resort and Boat Harbour

Jul 9, 2007

I had my May 2007 wedding at the Abaco Beach Resort. It was fabulous! The resort was very nice, they had some construction going on the other end of the resort but we didn't hear any noise. The only glitch was they gave my parents the keys to a suite when they had booked a standard room and then 15 min. after we got to the room they called and moved them into a MUCH smaller room. My parents wanted the bigger room and offered to pay the difference but they said it was booked. The wedding was excellent, there was no one on the beach and Latina did an amazing job coordinating it all! There was a fishing tournament the week of our wedding but it was fun looking at all the huge boats in the harbor and watching them bring in the big fish! They caught a 550 pound marlin while we were there. Big rooms, clean, all with beautiful views. Great time and would recomend anyone thinking of a destination wedding!
