My wife and I stayed at the Intercontinental San Juan for our honeymoon in San Juan and had a great time. Isla Verde beach, where the hotel is located, is very nice. There was very little seaweed in the water (other reviews made it seem as if the the seaweed was a problem) and the beach is very clean. The pool was great...swim-up bar was still closed...looked like it was nearing completion though. The room was pretty nice. The bed was very comfortable. The furniture could possibly use some updating, but it is not terrible. The bathroom is good, but nothing special. The ocean view rooms are great. We stayed on the 10th floor and had a great view. Anything below that might not be quite as good of a view. The balcony is pretty small...but who hangs out on the balcony very much anyways? The sliding glass door to the balcony is big enough to be able to open and enjoy the balcony from inside the room anyways. The concierge was very helpful. Helpful tip (which he will tell you if you ask): don't take the $70 tour to Old San Juan, the Forts...take the bus there for 75 cents, and take the taxi back (about $20) cause you will probably be tired after spending the day there. Overall the Intercontinental San Juan was great. As others have said as well, the worst thing is the prices! There is a fridge in the room though, so we opted to save a few bucks for a few meals and just gets some food from the supermarket across the street. Other than that, everything is great and we had a wonderful experience!!
