The four of us stayed at this Hotel for seven days. The Hotel is upscale, clean and in a great location.. The desk cleak was very kind and helpful. The room was a good size for the four of us, we also enjoyed the pool and spa. The maid service was respectful and charming. We had the best stay.

We had a corporate rate which was $109/night for a double-occupancy non-smoking room facing the pool (room 710). This building is the shorter tower which runs parallel to the ocean.

We stayed there for six nights and found the room to be clean and comfortable, but, as many mentioned, there are some issues which may make me decide to stay somewhere else in the future.

PROS
- Beds very comfortable
- Rooms kept very clean

- Very short walk to Waikiki Beach (2 minutes) and the Waikiki 'strip'
- Pool area looked nice
- Nice Hawaiian music poolside nightly

CONS
- NO valet! upon check-in we pulled up to the curb and a tour bus pulled in behind us, the single 'bell boy' rushed to the tour bus and didn't even look at us - we had to unload our bags ourselves and I had to go park my car in a multi-storey parking garage next door which was ALWAYS packed with cars and had no elevator! Plus - i had to pay $20 a day!

- Understaffed - not only the lack of valet, but the front-desk staff seemed overworked, the concierge was almost never there or was inundated with Japanese tourists. I was even told on two occasions, "we're short on staff right now"

- THIN WALLS - we could hear our neighbors conversations through the vents.

- Noisy at times - Waikiki Blvd. gets noisy on any day of the week, especially at peak tourist times. if you are an early sleeper (before 9:30pm) the live music down by the pool is very audible every night!

All-in-all, i think we got a great rate, but I would probably pay an extra $20-30/night and stay at the Kaimana Beach hotel which is right on the beach and has very friendly and personable staff and a proper valet!

We were here for 4 nights. Had orginally contacted hotel to ask questions and ended up joining their Starwood Program. Got the room for a decent rate. We upgraded to an Ocean View room. Let me tell you, the view was incredible!!! We were on the top floor, 29, and view was of Waikiki Beach and north and also some city/mountain view. Awesome!
Check-in had some problems, though. We arrived early and left bags with bell hop in front of hotel. Went and checked-in in case we could get in early. She went ahead and did all the computer work and told us to come back at 3:00, two hours later. That was fine, we went to Dukes and had lunch. We came back at 3:00 and was told that one of our rooms was ready, but someone must have taken the other room because it now showed as filled. Okay, give us another room......She finally found one,we had requested ajoining room, on the top floor, but the second room would'nt be ready for another 2 hours; it had had a late checkout. We asked that all of our luggage be brought up to the room that was ready. We got half of it. Okay, that's alright, we'll just wait until the other room was ready. She called and said that she had accidentally reset our room key and would need to come down and get a new key. I went down there and asked if the other room was ready. She said it wasn't and offered us drink coupons for their lounge. I went ahead and took them and we all went and sat in the lounge for an hour. Room was finally ready and we went back up to make sure our luggage was there and get ready for the evening. Our room key didn't work! So back downstairs and they reset it again. Worked this time!
The rooms were a little "tired", but clean. The beds were incredibly comfortable and pillows nice. We were in the "Ainahou" Tower. Much nicer than the other, older tower.
We got 2 papers every morning at our door, complimentary.
Because we were Starwood enrolled and stayed 4 nights, the 4th night was free and we got a $100 food coupon for each room. We decided to use that for the Mother's Day Brunch at $40 a person! It was good, but not worth the $40 ,so glad it was free.
They had a great show, Creation, A Polynesian Adventure.
We would definitely stay here again, but only in the high "A" tower.

We picked the PK as part of our vacation package and the price was reasonable. We stayed in the north tower and could see the Royal Hawaiian hotel from our lanai and a bit of an ocean view. The room was very basic - two queen beds, one chair and a desk with the TV. We were a bit crowded because we also had my 19 month old son's travel playpen with us that was set up between the slider to the lanai and the bed. The furniture itself is old, outdated and in need of replacing. The beds, however, were very nice. Upgraded linens and very comfortable.

We did not eat at any of the hotel restaurants because it was kind of pricey. We did sit out and listen to the entertainment by the pool one night and have a few drinks. Nice atmosphere. Can't beat the weather in May.

The tower we stayed in only offered dial-up internet connection and it was spotty. The in-room safes did say there was a daily charge for use, but we called the front desk to ask because literature in the room said the safes were available free of charge. The front desk said they don't charge anymore, it's an old sign, but we double checked at the end of our stay and there wasn't a charge, so we were pleased.

Other than that, the hotel was perfect for our stay and met our expectations. The location, of course, is beautiful and exactly how mentioned in many of the reviews here. We had no problems here and would stay again!
