We stayed at the Outrigger Luana Waikiki for 1 week, and the entire stay was fabulous! Right from the moment we checked in - we were upgraded to a deluxe ocean view 1 bedroom from the city/park view 1 bedroom and what a beautiful room. And not only that when we got to our room, as requested the baby crib and high chair were already in the room, which usually we have to call and ask for. The room was very clean, the maid service was excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - especially the girls at the hotel information travel desk.

The location was equally great - the beach is a short walk thru Fort DeRussy Park, and the beach there is very nice and not to busy. There is also a bus stop right across the street of the hotel as well as a ABC store and it is very close to the lively beachwalk and lots of great shopping. After seeing some of the other hotels and properties I was considering I was very happy with the location of the Luana.

The other amenities at the property were also great - the pool area is very nice, cabanas and lounge chairs. The pool was never to busy and the water temperature was perfect. There was a BBQ area as well with 2 gas BBQ's (no charge) that we used quite often during our visit. They were kept extraordinarily clean - they must scrub them down every day! There were also tables and chairs by the BBQ area to eat there as well. There are coin Laundry facilities and a very nice fitness center.

We absolutely loved our room, from the lanai we could see the fireworks that the HIlton puts on every friday and the view was to die for, how sad to come home and look out the window at our boring view of the neighbours back yard! The bedroom was huge and also had a lanai and the bathroom was very clean. The kitchen - we had a full kitchen - was fantastic! All the appliances were top notch. It was a godsend to have such a nice kitchen with 2 small children. And also in room internet was provided at no charge.

I just cannot say enough nice things about this hotel and would definitely stay here again when we travel to waikiki again. The only thing missing in my opinion is a hot tub in the pool area.

spent one night here, as we waited to board a late flight home. The room was very bright and modern. Had full kitchenette, which we were not able to use, unfortunately. Very roomy. Quiet, even though we were near elevators. The walk through the park to the beach is very nice.
Hotel staff were extremely helpful 2nd day as we waited on a late flight out of Honolulu. Let us keep car in garage all day for free, held our luggage securely, and allowed us to change out of beach clothes and into flight clothes.
Romantic wonderful meal at Orchids Restaurant.
enjoyed walking Levers street at night with torch lit sidewalks.
Buy your souveniers at the Aloha Stadium Swap Market on Wed./ Sat./ or Sun. Prices better than street vendors.

Nice hotel at reasonable price. Employees were very helpful and welcoming. Hotel is centrally located, but in a quiter block which was nice. Some mold in bathroom shower, but rest of room appeared clean.

I would recommend taking bus to Hanuamana Bay for snorkeling. Oahu is a beautiful place.

My husband and I decided to stay at the Outrigger our first night in Hawaii - assuming we would be tired from a long flight and trying to adjust to the time change. We had some trouble finding the hotel - drove by it a couple times before realizing the correct entrance.

The location of the hotel is great - it's right by several good restaurants and shopping. The staff was very friendly - checking-in and out wasn't a problem.

We were not very happy with the room we were given - first floor, right on top of the road. The room was missing an element of "luxury" that other hotels in the area have. In fact, later in our trip we stayed at another hotel in Waikiki for $25 more per night and were much happier. The Outrigger isn't a bad hotel - the room was clean, TV worked fine, bathroom was comfortable. But once we compared it to another hotel in a similar price-range, we were convinced we'll stay in the other hotel next time.
