“Nice place”

The Cabana at Waikiki

The Cabanas is basically a nice place. The rooms are clean and well furnished. It's location is good. It is on a back alley but that seclusion from the other hotels. While there is limited parking at the hotel, they have made arrangements with the hotel next door for parking. The one downside for me was the lack of a pool. But other than that, it was a nice place with friendly staff. I'd definitely stay there again.

“Lots of Aloha”

The Cabana at Waikiki

I have stayed at the Cabana for years and continue to return. The staff is always there to greet with a smile and goes out of their way to make sure I have everything I need.
Besides the convenient parking, closeness to the best Waikiki restaurants and pubs- it is always fantastic to have quality wine glasses and a wine key in the room! I have stayed at all the surrounding hotels when the Cabana is booked and trust me the Cabana has the best bed hands down.
Looking forward to next months visit and keep up the great work!

“Love the Cabana!”

The Cabana at Waikiki

I and my Boyfriend have stayed at the Cabana for at least the last 6 year end vacation times. I have found the staff exremely friendly and helpful. Actually, it is like visitng family when we go there. The accommodations aren't like the Hilton Hawaiian but I wouldn''t stay at the Hilton Hawaiian even if I could afford it. I would rather be at the Cabana.

“Disappointed not to have a more sociable time”

The Cabana at Waikiki

We stayed at the Cabanas for two nights at the end of our Hawaii holiday. We'd already had a couple of nights at the Aqua Aloha Surf Hotel where our room was unexpectedly smart and with excellent views across the city. In contrast, the room at the Cabanas was dark and rather gloomy, with nothing in the way of a view.

Staff were friendly enough and helpfully arranged an early check-in for us. However we didn't meet any other guests during our stay and we were the only two people who showed up for the drinks party on Thursday evening.

The shared areas of the Cabanas are not conducive to socialising and we didn't even consider using the hot tub - it simply wasn't in a nice enough setting.

Overall, we rather regretted moving from the other location.

“not that bad really”

The Cabana at Waikiki

Oct 3, 2007

it's not that bad really, sure the photos really do make it look good, and it is centrally located, but it is what it s a tired old motel slowly been done up.
What worried me was when you were in the hot tub, you could clearly be seen by the neighbours through the fence, not at all private, forget the carpark make into an entertainment area, at least half of it.
The toilets back up the doors don't allways lock and i gave up on the breakfast. the maid was freindly ,however she asked for a tip at the end of the stay, thats fair i guess.
The staff were not interested or friendly to anyone, the younger staff are there for the wages and thats it, the less they have to do the better. the office is not 24hrs so if your coming from the other side of the world and arrive at midnight they will make arrangements, i enjoyed my stay visiting room to room, meeting like minded guys, it really needs a pool or a larger sitiing or sun arean perhaps on the roof.
one thing is good at least it's a gay motel not just gay friendly.
i say try it out for a least one day then go to the other gay b&bs like absolute paradise (big island) or isle of you big island , that is where you will really get looked after.
But good on Cabana for at least providing a good gay service ps don't go down to max's gym sauna very unfriendly
