Waikiki Parc Hotel

We stayed at the Parc for five nights in April. The hotel is very clean and modern. Rooms are a nice size. Our room was on the top floor and had a view of the ocean and the city scape. The hotel is a two minute walk to the beach and you are around the corner from the main drag where there are tons of shops and restaurants. We had a late flight and had to check out at noon, but the hotel has a complementary shower/bathroom/changing room which was very clean and well stocked and was great after a day at the beach before our flight home.
THe front desk staff is nice and they provide mats, towels and water every day for you. There is a tour desk in the lobby, but when I was there the man did not speak very much English and just gave me a bunch of pamflets and we ended up booking a tour on our own.
The area of Waikiki is reminesent of Miami in that it is a beach in the middle of the city, but I highly recommend checking out the surround areas. We took a bus tour to the North Shore which is beautiful and mountain biked in the mountains on the West side of the Island where Lost and Jurassic Park were shot. Great eats and an overall wonderful experience!
We also did not rent a car, its not really necessary if you do not want to. There is public transportation which we did not try but there are tons of cabs and tours and walking is a great way to see things!

“A decent hotel at a fair price in the heart of Waikiki Beach”

Waikiki Parc Hotel

Apr 15, 2008

Stayed in a mountain view deluxe room on the 18th floor over the Easter weekend. We had a comfortable stay there and would probably stay there again if we go back next time. Our room was clean and always kept in good shape. The decor is pretty modern but I feel the floor tiles look out of sync with the decor.

I realize many people complained about the noise. Yes, there was noise in early morning but maybe I live in the city so that was not a major issue to me. I still slept very well in the comfortable bed. If you are very sensitive to noise, you may want to pay a bit more money to get a high-floor room.

Location-wise it's in an ideal location. Through a short walk and the beach is there. No reason to use the hotel swimming pool at all. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops are just nearby. Very close to the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Centre. To take the bus, it's about 5 minutes walk towards the US Army Museum.

When it comes to asking for travelling advice, yes I agree with some who said the concierge doesn't offer much help. There's always a local expert sitting across the concierge from 8-5 and he is a really good resource. He recommended a few nice Japanese restaurants in a few less travelled neighbourhoods in town and they are excellent!

“Enjoyed the Parc”

Waikiki Parc Hotel

i cant believe the number of people whining about the noise. If you stay in this part of Waikiki, it is still pretty much a construction zone...getting better as a lot has now been completed ..but neverthless still noisy. it wont matter where you stay at that end of Lewers Street it will be noisy!! I was on the 20th floor of the Parc..the glazed windows blocked the worst of the noise -- it was fine and I have a low threshold when it comes to noise.

The room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Smallish, but most hotels are these days. Do you go to Waikiki to stay in your room??? I dont...

Great location for shopping and the beach.

Nobu downstairs, Roys on the corner and the restaurants of the Halekulani across the road -- spoilt for choice. If you dont like these, there's Denny's next door! (not for me, thanks!)

The front office staff and bell desk staff could not have been more helpful, efficient and friendly. I've had contact with them since I left and once again, they were polite, efficient and helpful.

The only slight negatve was that the ocean view was a bit disappointing..you see the ocean between buildings only but as the Halekulani isnt too tall, its also not all that bad - see photo..

I'd just about given up staying in Waikiki but I found the Parc exactly to my liking thanks to its location, nice room and good staff.

“Not worth it”

Waikiki Parc Hotel

We only stayed for one night in this hotel and it was horrible. The staff were very unhelpful and some even rude. The ocean view (which we payed around $50 more for) was pathetic. After dinner when arriving back to the room, the bathroom was flooded and ruined all of my cosmetics. When checking out the next morning explained to them what happened and asked for a discount only for the manager to tell me 'it is not our fault'.
Altogether would never reccomend this place and would never go back!!!

“Great Location; Great Price”

Waikiki Parc Hotel

Apr 5, 2008

I just got back from a 6 night stay at the Waikiki Parc.I was able to get a AAA rate for a deluxe moutain room which included parking. The bottom line being that I don't think I could have gotten a better location or room for the price I paid.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Waikiki just 100 yards from the beach. There is public access to the beach right out of the back entrance of the hotel. All around the hotel are stores and restaurants from familiar chains to local spots.

The staff is very friendly and acoomodating. The rooms are small but I was traveling alone and so the size was fine. The rooms are clean and there are nice amenities and plenty of towels. Free coffee and newspapaers are available in the lobby starting at 6:00.

Another advantage is having signing privilages at the Halekulani located within steps of the Parc. The prices at the Halekulani are what you'd expect for a high end resort but it was great to eat and drink right on the beach at the House Without A Key bar/restaurant.

Drawbacks to the Parc are that the neighborhood is loud. I was on the 17th floor and was woken every morning at 4:00 by deliveries, garbage trucks and the construction of a new hotel nearby. I was able to get back to sleep, but if you're sensitive to noise this would be a problem. Also...the pool at the Parc is lacking to say the least. Your backyard would be better because you'd have quicker access to drinks, food and a bathroom. FInally, get breakfast elsewhere. There's a Denny's right next door and numerous coffee places very close. The breakfast was expensive and didn't offer many choices. Overall though I don't think I could have done better for the money which with the rate I received was $188 a night.
