“Decent hotel, great perks, kid-friendly”

Embassy Suites Hotel San Antonio Northwest / I-10

4 of 5 stars

Stayed here for a week on business at the Medical Center The hotel is located in a business park next to an abandoned go-kart track at the intersection of two main freeways, Access around town (on and off the freeways was easy, once learned), but there was not enough parking for this busy hotel. Hotel is older, but renovations made the rooms nice. Complimentary made-to-order breakfast and manager's reception was above average and a nice perk (as were the free frozen margaritas.) I never found the business center they claimed they had - that has a computer terminal for boarding passes, but no desk or chair - you had to stand. The carpets still need to be redone or cleaned, but the room was otherwise clean, spacious, and had great temperature control (during 90+ degree weather). One of the elevators did not work and the rest were slow. Front desk staff were friendly and courteous, but failed to follow through on reported issues. The place was full of families with kids. This is not the best Embassy Suites I have stayed in but certainly not the worst. I would probably stay here again if I needed to be in this area. Would definitely recommend it for families, but not so sure about business people.

“Great place in San Antonio”

Embassy Suites Hotel San Antonio Northwest / I-10

May 31, 2008

Our family of 5 really enjoyed this hotel. Renovation is complete, and I'd recommend this hotel to friends. Our room was very big and comfortable. With 2 teens, 2 adults and an 11 year old, we appreciate the larger rooms! Furnishings, carpet, & bedding were up-to-date and in great shape. The bathroom was perfect and fresh, with a large tub/shower area. The vanity outside the bathroom had a large counter area with plenty of room for all of us to use. Two TVs make finding entertainment for everyone easy! The small microwave and refrigerator were great for our snacks.

The ground level has a beautiful tiled floor and a fountain too. Very pretty decor with a Southwest flair. The breakfast buffet area is large and has lots of tables. The hotel was full while we were there, and the staff did a great job maintaining clean tables and the space. Be sure to get to breakfast before the last 30 minutes of serving ... they tend to pare down the food on the buffet line then, but you can always get eggs, pancakes and omelets made fresh for you from the "omelet" line. Our family had plenty of choices each day and left satisfied. The coffee was especially good at this hotel! They even had a soda station at breakfast, so I could have a Diet Coke too. We had two different chefs at the "omelet" line during our 5 night stay ... both were fast and friendly. We were at the hotel during one "manager's reception" time, and we enjoyed the snacks and drinks before getting ready for dinner.

The staff was very nice and helpful. This hotel does have a business center with two public access computers for the Internet and a printer to use ... so I could print out my boarding passes for our departure. We did not use the wi-fi service, as it does cost extra.

There are 4 small elevators, and each hold maybe 8 people, so mornings could be slow to get one for breakfast. We took the stairs down from the 7th floor (there are 8 floors) most mornings, so it became a non-issue for us.

The hotel is not far from the SA airport, and it easily accessed from I-10. Roads are a little confusing in SA, but the hotel staff was able to give us clear directions for us to drive from the airport right to the hotel. Parking is free at this hotel, and it is quite ample. We did not personally use the hotel pool, but we did walk through the room and found it clean although it is a small pool. There are plenty of restaurants nearby to choose from, although we also ate in downtown areas throughout the week.

We traveled down to Riverwalk and downtown SA several times during the week, and it's easy to get to from this hotel. Get a good map from the rental car company or from a travel guide, and it's fine! You can be down at Riverwalk in less than 15 minutes. We traveled to Sea World, Boerne, and New Bransfelds during the week too, and all were pretty easy to do. More signs directing you to as to which way to go for the Interstates would have been better throughout SA, but we learned where to go without many problems.

“Just make sure the remodeling is done.”

Embassy Suites Hotel San Antonio Northwest / I-10

This property isn't like the the other Embassy Suites I've stayed in. It's obviously an older hotel, probably purchasd by Hilton and rebranded. They are in the process of remodeling all the rooms (Nov 07), and I believe I had a completed room because it was very nice. It was rather messy here during the work, with two elevators closed, boxes stacked outside doors, and lots of workers all around making noise during the day.

Overall a nice place, but not the "new" Embassy Suites hotel I'm used to.

“A Very Busy Place”

Embassy Suites Hotel San Antonio Northwest / I-10

Aug 24, 2007

This hotel is in a great location and place for families vacationing at Sea World and Fiesta Texas. It is an easy drive to both and there are many restaurant choices nearby. We were disappointed with the hotel. It is older and has not been renovated. The bedding and furniture were worn and the carpet had some stains. The bathroom was clean but very small. We had room service one night for dinner. It took a long time and was not what we ordered. The pool is small for so many families and the hot tub was VERY dirty. However, the staff were always helpful and considerate, and quickly fixed any problems we had. The hotel cost included breakfast and a nightly manager's reception that were great.

“Nice Stay!”

Embassy Suites Hotel San Antonio Northwest / I-10

4 of 5 stars
Austin Texas
Aug 11, 2007

We had a nice stay at the Embassy.
Beautiful lobby, easy check in, comfortable beds.
The room and grounds appeared to be kept very clean.
Lots of families around. The indoor pool was crowded
during our entire stay, but guess thats to be
expected during the summer months.
The furniture and tv in the room was dated, but appeared
well maintained.
We enjoyed the managers reception with chips, salsa,
popcorn and free drinks.
This hotel is close to some good restaurants, their is a
game room next door to the property with go-karts,
putt-putt golf and arcade room.
We never heard any noise coming from it tho,
area seemed quite.
No real complains, would definetly stay here
again when in San Antonio.
