I've stayed at several Homewood Suites locations across the country and my experiences have all been very favorable--until I arrived at this location. I stayed here 5 nights in September 2007, and I couldn't wait to leave.
Hotel staff reported the property is 17 years old, and it looks it. No renovations or even redecorating was evident. Building exteriors were moldy, roof shingles are wearing out. The exterior door to the building I stayed in was broken during my entire stay--the security lock was inoperative. Trash was scattered outside the entry door, and the door was in dire need of repainting. I complained about the exterior door on at leat 4 occasions, nothing was done. My bathroom sink and tub drained very slowly; I complained, nothing was done. The toilet ran loudly all night long; I complained, nothing was done. I finally turned the toilet off each night so I could sleep. Floor and table lamps had a solid, very visible layer of dust on them--may allergies did not react well. Parking was very tight--I had to walk at least 2 blocks to my building each night. On the positive side, the beds were very comfy, and the suites were roomy.
Breakfast was usually acceptable, but hardly gormet. The evening "receptions" were a joke--food was not eatable, and the customary beer/wine were not available because the location "had to license" to serve them. The pool looked servicable, I didn't try it out. Common areas were generally run down and dirty--especially exterior walkways, etc.
In short, stay away from this place. There are much better choices!
