I went to Philly for a quick, overnight visit to see the Frida Khalo exhibit....booking this place on Priceline for $90 bucks plus tax. A good deal for a very decent hotel. Not far from the historical sites.
I had phoned prior to going, requesting a double room, but was told there was no record of a request at check-in. Nonetheless, this plus additional requests were met. Thanks to Tripadvisor,
I asked for a high floor with newly renovated room and water view. I was told the entire hotel had been renovated but still got a very nice double room on the 21st floor, with water view. (Maybe because this was a Tuesday & not a busy night).
The room was very clean and comfortable, with a very chic/
updated , contemporary decor, flat screen TV and super comfy beds. Well appointed with nice, absorbent towels, a good working hair blower and desk with chair. Nice, appealing carpeting- a big plus- with no gross-out factor to be found.
My biggest complaint: I asked the front desk for a wake-up call and never got one. This did not pose a huge problem for me
but still unacceptable- especially for a 4 star hotel. Upon phoning to complain in the morning, the front desk apologized & half-heartedly asked if I had already had breakfast.. (I was not interested).
Also, the hotel is a bit out of the way, but taxis are readily available. If youre walking to the hotel, don't bother taking the walking bridge (there are 3) which crosses over the highway to access it. I did this & felt I walked miles out of the way after a whole day of sightseeing. I heard later there is a traffic light to cross the highway around 2nd street/Dock Street (near Sheraton Hotel). I suggest phoning for directions if you're walking.
