Through an organizational affiliation, I got a room for $99. This was a steal! The hotel rooms was FANTASTIC. The bedding grand. The hotel exterior and lobby were not a reflection of the comfort within the room. I really liked it. I have stayed at Hiltons and found the rooms very comparable to the rooms at this holiday inn express. The staff were really friendly too.

Upon arrival, the front desk staff were extremely unpleasant, no smiles, no introductions. We were charged an additional $10.00 because there were two of us in the room! I have never heard of such a thing!

We took the elevator to the 17th floor. Walking down the hallway, there was a strong odor. The hallway looked extremely “tired” and it needed updating. We got to our room, 1708, and tried to turn on the light. The entry light did not work, so my husband had to feel his way around the room to find the light next to the bed. We brought our luggage in and wanted to lay down for a bit. The beds were terrible! You would sit down, and bounce for thirty seconds afterwards. The air conditioner was falling out of the wall, with a one inch gap around the hole. There was mold around the window. My husband took a shower and he said the bottom of the shower felt like you were standing on a sponge, and that it felt like there was no support directly underneath. The deadbolt did not work; it was falling off the wall.

After returning from dinner, I stopped at the front desk to tell them about the deadbolt and the non-functional entry light switch. Calvin was wonderful. He immediately offered us another room on the 11th floor. Unfortunately that room was just as dreadful, but it was late and we needed to get some sleep.

Continental breakfast tasted like cardboard! Everything was stale, overcooked, and disgusting!

We have stayed at the Holiday Inn Express hotels before which are four and five star, BUT THIS HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS is filthy, outdated, and uncomfortable to stay in. I will never return to this hotel and never recommend anyone stay there.

The hotel was generally decent but its major advantage was its location in Philadelphia.
The staff was not rude but neither were they friendly. It was worth the money though.

I booked this hotel through their own web site. I also received a great deal being a AAA member.
My room was clean, smelt great, comfy beds with 4 pillows.
ALL the staff were attentive down to the ladies working in the breakfast room. They were so happy and proud of their work.
Great value for money when you have to stay in the middle of the city.
walking distance to everything.
