We stayed at the Hampton Inn on 2/21 for two nights. Our daughter was visiting Drexel University, so we received the Drexel price of $89/night. Our room, located on the 7th floor, had two double beds. Check in was good. When I requested a room with a nice city view, the girl at the reception desk said there was construction going on by the "city view" rooms. So we chose the other side of the hotel and the view was fine. The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. The only problem with the room was the heater would occasionally make a rattling noise, but we ended up just running the fan at night. The buffet breakfast, which was included in the price, was OK. One morning eggs and breakfast sausage patties were the hot foods featured. The other morning a kielbasa-type meat and waffles were the hot foods. Always available were yogurt, muffins, bagels, English muffins, cereal, canned fruit, juices, coffee, and toast. The hotel was ideally located; two blocks from Drexel (medical building), a 20 min. walk to Independence Hall and a 5 min. walk to Reading Terminal Market. Many restaurants and bars close by. We ate at Moriarty's Irish Pub/Restaurant - excellent! There was a concierge available in the lobby. We used the valet parking which is $20 (plus $3 tax). Our car was always ready within 20 min. I would definitely stay at this Hampton again, esp. for this price.
