Took an eairlier flight than expected because of blizzard conditions expected out of Cleveland. Ended up with a 9 hour layover at Philadelphia. Since the Marriott was attached to the airport, asked about getting a room for the day. The cost of the room was very reasonable. Was able to spend the day swimming and napping as opposed to sitting in a crowded airport waiting for an overseas flight. The service and admenities were excellent. Was money very well spent!

Airport hotels can be bland and unappealing. Not so the the PHL Airport Marriott. It is perfect for those early flights, the rates are reasonable, the rooms clean and comfortable and they removed feather bedding immediatly for this allergic traveller. The gym is amazingly large and well equipped. It would be superb for a downtown hotel! Even the lobby was inviting.

I left a pair of prescription sunglasses in the room rushing to catch my plane. I called the hotel from the tarmac and they found my glasses and sent them out by DHL. I had them the next day. Outstanding!

Just a note of caution. Although the place was beautiful and comfortable - we spent a total of 15 hours between the miami airport and the phila. airport with 3 kids dealing with flight delays and cancellations. We had our flight from phila. cancelled due to weather - trying to just get home to upstate new york. No car rental places had a car to rent one way - so we couldnt drive that night so we were forced to either sleep at the airport with 3 kids and no luggage (not even a toothbrush) or stay at the closest hotel so we could get back to the airport in the mornig for the next available flight to new york. We finally got to the hotel at 10:30pm with 3 tired kids and just wanted a place to sleep and we had to get two rooms so the older 2 kids didnt have to sleep in the same bed being 1 boy and 1 girl. We explained our situation to the desk clerk and werent expecting a free room or a deal - we just didnt expect to pay over $600.00 for 2 rooms for a total of 11 hours that we spent in the room. I would think that being right there at the airport they would be aware of travelers who have flight cancellation issues - what do people do who are not familiar with the area and dont have that kind of money - sleep in the street?

We had an early morning flight, so we booked a room at the Marriott. It's hard to beat the convenience of being able to walk to the terminal! Even though it connects to Terminal B, once past security you can walk from A to D (soon to include E and F), or take the free shuttle provided by the hotel.

We were on the concierge level, and took advantage of the happy hour. Snack foods and soda are provided, but you must pay for alcohol... Which I believe is a law in philadelphia.

We were concerned about airplane noise, but were very satisfied with how quiet and comfortable the room was.
