“No complaints! Very Happy with everything!”

Omni Hotel at Independence Park

Ok, let me first say that I read countless reviews on these sites, and 90% of the time I find all the negative reviews I read are inaccurate. I find most problems people report about, they probably bring on themselves.

I don't have one complaint about this hotel, and honestly, my trip was much better because I stayed here.

The hotel staff were awesome, honestly, maybe too nice!

The room was spacious, 2 double beds, with plasma TV, and a nice washroom. I didn't find it dirty or "nasty" like others reported.

The location is fantastic. Steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and a very safe part of town with good bars around.

Can't say anything bad about this hotel, bottomline, if I went back to Philadelphia, this would be the first hotel I look at staying in again.

Stayed here just for a stopover on my way back vacation. Lobby wasnt bad at all and quite nice. Location was alright but didnt matter to us since we where going to the airport. Room was nice and big , nice TV and a nice view. Beds where comfortable and the washroom was very big indeed. Didnt go to the restaurant, but go to the restaurant : FORK . Its only a block away and has AMAZING steak.

Overall not a bad hotel.

“Not one of the best Omnis”

I spent a Sunday night at this hotel with a friend; it was a special treat for us both. I got a good rate on Expedia (which the hotel itself said it couldn't match) and was looking forward to it.

I've stayed at Omnis in New Haven and New York, where the quality of the surroundings was incomparable. On this occasion I'm sorry to say that the interior of the room I was given looked jaded and tired. There was black mould clearly visible round the bathtub and there were some stains on the carpet. At breakfast in their restaurant there was stale food underneath some of the tables. The service was very good/excellent, however.

Overall, I was disappointed because my experiences at other Omnis have been so much better than this.

On the plus side, the hotel is very well placed for the historic district of Philly, and there are some very nice restaurants within easy walking distance. In particular, I would recommend the Caribou, a wonderful French bistro which serves excellent coffee.

“Some likes/some dislikes”

Omni Hotel at Independence Park

I stayed at this hotel 2/29-3/2 for a wedding in the city.
I requested 2 double beds when I reserved the room, and was told it would probably be OK...but they would let me know when we checked in. Upon check in, there weren't any available. Not a big deal, it was fine.
I had received an email the day before offering an online check in and I was able to put the time that we would be arriving in, so the room would be ready. Great, I thought! We arrived at 11:30am, were given room keys, and sent up to the 11th floor. Our room was clearly not ready..bed wasn't made, bathroom dirty, etc. We called downstairs, and was asked to come get new keys for a different room. This time to a room on the 5th floor. We get there, and the room was dirty. I don't mean that housekeeping hadn't been there...I mean just plain dirty. The bathtub had a brown ring around it like old water had sat in it, stains on the sheets, etc. I'm sorry...but I wasn't about to stay there. So, I called again downstairs..and told them I needed a new room and explained what the issues were.
The tone from the front desk people all of a sudden changed and they were getting nasty for no reason. I don't know a lot of people who like to stay in dirty hotel rooms when they're paying over $200 a night. FInally..we were told we could probably be moved but we would have to wait until after 3pm. Whatever. At this point we had friends arrving so we just left our bags and went off for the day. We got a room later on that was better...but I still am really surprised with the quality of the rooms for an apparent "4 star hotel" Overall, was not impressed at all and would not stay there again.
Our friends (bride and groom) stayed in the Penthouse Suite though..and that was quite nice!
On a good note, the location is excellent! We were treated to the breakfast the next morning by the newlyweds and the food was very good. All of the staff we passed in the hallways, etc were very nice and helpful.
Oh..and only 1 elevator was working the whole weekend..so we ended up taking the service elevator a few times to avoid waiting 15+ mins for the regular elevator. We had a 7 mos pregnant girl with us who was not going to be walking 11 flights of stairs every time we went somewhere.
So, overall...I wouldn't stay there again...but would consider it after the renovation is done given the location. I'm not a picky traveler at all, just one that expects certain standards be upheld when staying at places like this.

“overall good experience, nice Sun. breakfast”

My mom stayed with her partner at the Omni as part of a special birthday celebration. They stayed overnight, and then we had a breakfast on Sunday. The room, as others have said, is a bit shotty, especially for the money and when they moved the couch to better view the flat screen TV, there were 2 pieces of trash from past guests there. Unacceptable. But, the view from the window is great (Independence Square) and you are basically across the street from Independence Hall. I think the bed was OK and otherwise, the cleanliness was fine.

The breakfast the next day was very good. Lots of good food. No line for omelettes etc. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Overall, a good experience and they are renovating and I think it will be great after that.
