“I expected more from the Loews hotel”

We booked this hotel via PriceLine bidding and we paid 235.70 in total for 2 nights which seems to be a good deal.
I was really looking forward to this hotel but overall I can say... for this bidding-money you'd probably get more value.
The Loews is known as good quality hotel and altough it's not that bed the hotels I stayed at during my holiday (Intercontinental, Marriot, Renaissance) are much much better and cleaner than this one.

We checking in and they wanted us to use VALET parking but we found out there is a nearby parking garage (near 10 street) which is much cheaper. They gave us room 2301 which is on a high floor. They actually gave us a KING bed which they don't need to give if you book via Priceline.
If we wanted a higher floor we could pay extra for the 28th floor or have Queen beds on the 25th.
So we decided to take 2301.
The bad thing about this room is that's not even in the corridor where there is carpet on the floor. So it's very noisy and just opposit of where the employees have their brakes.

The view is excellent but I would advise you to go to the 33rd floor, EVEN if you not staying in this hotel. You can get a great view for FREE !

Worst thing about this hotel is the POOL.

They charge you 10 dollar per person per day to use it.
This is ridiculous. I never had one hotel in my life where they asked extra $$$ for pool-usage.
I complained because it was not stated on the website nor in the directory. Finally they waived the fee but don't expect much of the pool. It's probably expensive because you can use the fitness area as well.

I was really dissapointed by this. Still can't believe that a hotel like the Loews charges their guest for the pool.
If you're a club member it's for free so I signed up just a day before I checked in but they refused because I didn't book directly via the hotel !

Unbelievable.

“Spectacular views, Deco Hotel”

Spectacular 180 degree views from the 23rd floor. Never seen anything like it at a hotel. Windows are seamless. Ask for a room with a view of the River and downtown.

Hotel is Deco-Stylish. Tables, chairs, lights are excellent replica's of the original furnishings; place gleams of 1920's streamline moderne. Building was one of the first structural steel skyscrapers in the country. Rooms are nice sized; food is good; everything clean and tidy - BUT THE VIEWS< GO FOR THE VIEWS!

“A super classy hotel that is very convenient”

We stayed at the PSFS Loews about a year ago when we were moving to Philly and about to close on our house. We got a fantastic deal on our hotel room and the view was even better! We had an upper floor view looking right onto City Hall. The room was very well appointed and my wife and I particularly loved the interior design/bold modern colors of the room. The bed was very comfortable. The service personnel at the hotel was particularly attentive to detail and tried very hard to please. The room service was a bit slow (but we ordered after 2 AM), but because we had to wait ~1 hour for our food, they made it complimentary and did not charge us! The location of the PSFS is also hard to beat. It is across the street catty-corner from the Philadelphia Convention Center and is a short walk (about 10 min) from Independence Mall. The art museum is about a 15 min walk. In addition, the hotel sits above the Market-Frankford subway line, so the University of Pennsylvania and points further east/west are very accesible as well. I would strongly recommend this hotel.

“Major Disappointment”

After checking out of the Four Seasons because we were told there would not be electricity for several hours that evening, my partner and I were looking forward to a chance to check out this historic property. The check-in service was fine, although quite laggard, and when we got up to our room -- an executive suite -- we were shocked to be hit with the powerful stench of stale cigarette smoke, especially since it was supposedly a non-smoking room. The lovely man who had helped us up with our bags smelled it too, and called downstairs for a new room assignment. We followed him to the next suite and, although it didn't smell, the carpets were absolutely filthy -- just as they had been in the first room. They were stained and dirty -- and this was in a room that was going to cost $379. Plus the suite had terrible feng shui and a ridiculously hard, bony bed (I sat on it to check, just to see). We checked out (they were gracious about not charging us) and fled to the Marriott across the street, which had very clean carpets and great service.

“Very Nice”

Loews Philadelphia Hotel

Stayed for a Saturday night, 9/23, booked through priceline. Very nice building, staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable, had a turn down service in the evening. Spectacular views from the 32nd floor overlooking the city and the river. Dining within walking distance and transportation available in front of the hotel. Had a late night room service meal, was very good, although expensive I think thats a given at any hotel.
Would recommend the Loews Hotel anytime.
