We tend to avoid Sheratons and Hiltons. We find them to be overpriced for what they offer. We stayed at the Sheraton University City because of visiting U Penn, a short walk from the hotel.
The check-in was the best part of the stay. The woman who helped us was the most professional and courteous front desk person we ever had.
Supposedly, the hotel was recently renovated. The room had ink stains on the carpeting. The bathroom is small, but adaquate. The coffee maker had stale water in it (we decided not to bother with it after that). There were no tea bags, only coffee (no great loss, I guess, since we weren't going to use the dirty coffeee maker). The linens and towels were fine. Good internet service. The room is large enough for 2 queen beds, but the hotel only offers double beds or kings.
The room was quiet. We faced U Penn, so the views were attarctive. It's conveniently located, with many dining options nearby.
We would grudgingly stay here again if we had to because of the convenience to U Penn, and because the Hilton (which we rate the same as Sheraton) is more expensive. Also, the parking fee at the Sheraton is only $15, while it's $25 at the Hilton. The parking spots were of a good size for our Lexus SUV (contrary to some other comment about the spots being tight).
