we were also at the 21 club for pre theatre menu on Feb 25th, and found the place to be everything I had expected. I thought it would be a hassle to have to wear jacket and tie for a casual dinner, but in the end it added to the feeling sense of occasion and we had a great time. We chose the $38 pre theatre menu with three courses and tea/coffee and found it to be excellent value. Our bottle of wine ended up costing more than the dinner, and certainly it would be an expensive night if you ordered from the main menu at $40 a steak. Having said that the food was such that we might just treat ourselves when we go back next time - and I'm sure there will be a next time - as its rare treat to be able to find excellent food, outstanding service and a elegent touch of celebrity status under one roof
