We arrived at this hotel 4 hours prior to check-in time and they still had our room ready for us! Our intital impression of the hotel was that it was very luxurious and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
We had a bridge to bridge room, and as you can see from my photos, we had a spectacular view of the city! The room was immaculately clean, tidy and beautiful. Soon after check in, some Chinese tea and cookies were delivered to us and we were offered a room demonstration (we declined this but it still was a nice touch).
We went out for a few hours but made sure we got back to the room in time for sunset, which was breathtaking. We were able to walk to Union Square in 10 minutes.
Rooms were equipped with free internet access, a widescreen television and a fully stocked minibar.
The bathroom was large and had a walk in shower as well as a bathtub. Molten Brown toiletries were supplied which was a bonus!
We decided we didn't want to leave the room and opted for room service dinner. We ordered chicken noodle soup, a cheeseburger, fillet mignon (with garlic fries), and chocolate fondant cakes for dessert. It was quite pricey but delicious and nice for a one off treat.
Check out was quick and convienent, with the staff taking good care of our transport requirements to the airport.
This hotel was fabulous and I would definitely reccomend that you stay there, even for just one night. I will no doubt be in San Francisco again, and if my budget can stretch to it, the Mandarin will be on the top of my hotel list:)
