“A Luxury B and B in convenient location.”

Kingsley Lodge

5 of 5 stars
Essex,England
Jun 18, 2008

This is a high class B and B in a lovely house, beautifully furnished and kept immaculately clean. Our test for complete satisfaction is whether the experience is better than being in our own home.Kingsley Lodge passed this test with flying colours. The hosts Jeremy and Cliff were extremely friendly and the atmospere was relaxed and convivial. Our room was very comfortable ,the en-suite bathroom very modern and convenient, and the breakfast was well presented and of good quality and quantity. There is an extensive DVD library for guests to use and all furniture and fittings are of the highest quality. A thoroughly pleasant experience.

“Kingsley Lodge - First Class All the Way”

Kingsley Lodge

Jun 11, 2008

The Kingsley Lodge is an absolute delight in every way. Jeremy and Cliff are fantastic hosts. The Lodge and its rooms are first class, beautifully decorated with the ultimate in comfort for anyone staying away from home. I really enjoyed my stay and wouldn't consider anywhere else when travelling to this part of the UK. I will be back!

“Relaxed comfort”

Kingsley Lodge

May 6, 2008

I was travelling on my own which can sometimes be a bit daunting but the owners made me feel completely welcome and I relaxed in minutes. A beautiful property with a stunning room (Diamond) and luxurious bathroom. Slept soundly on a comfortable bed with a delicous breakfast to complete my stay. You will not find better service and accomodation in the area.

We booked into Kingsley Lodge for a few days away purely on the basis of the great reviews on this site. I honestly wondered if anywhere could be that good. We were offered a discounted upgrade to the Platinum room, which was without a doubt worth every penny we paid for it - similar price to a business room in any of the reasonably nice chains but just so much better! The room was very spacious, the decor could have been lifted from one of the high-end interiors magazines, but at the same time it was extremely comfortable.

Jeremy and Cliff are perfect hosts - friendly and attentive, there to make sure you have everything you need, but at the same time never in your face, so you never feel like you need to make conversation if you'd just prefer to come and go quietly.

The breakfasts are excellent (we had both the continental and cooked breakfasts during our stay) and the view from the breakfast room into the gardens is a lovely way to start the day.

It's the little touches that make all the difference though - the stereo and DVD player in the room and selection of DVDs to borrow make sure you don't end up with cabin fever. (Both myself and my boyfriend have been frequent business travellers so appreciate the difference this makes!)

The location was perfect for us - a short train ride to Manchester, or a short drive into Buxton and the peak district for fabulous walks. There are places to eat and drink within reasonable walking distance, and wider options just a short drive away.

All in all a perfect stay.
