“AWESOME--highly recommended”

Hyatt Summerfield Suites Dallas/Uptown

Jan 22, 2008

I stayed for two nights as I interviewed at the Parkland and Baylor Dallas hospitals. The location was a bit tricky to find even with GPS. However, once I was there, i was not disappointed. The hotel is in the heart of downtown, right next to the AA center.Check in service by the staff was excellent. In fact, every time I walked by, they were attentive and ready to answer any questions I had.

I stayed in an executive king. One bed, one pull out sofa, mini kitchen. The furniture was new and clean and had a modern look to it. There was wifi and a flat screen tv in my room. The bed was nice, high, comfy, with down comforter. Everything you would need in the mini kitchen, including pots/pans, utensils provided. It was amazing.

I went to the newly renovated fitness center and I thought it didn't have a tv at first but then I realized that the tvs were on the equipment! You just hook in your headphones and you're good to go. there is a treadmill, elipitcal and a bike. Some free weights too. They may be adding more since they were still renovating.

I found out that they were changing from the Bradford to the Hyatt during my stay. This did not impact me at all. In fact, I thought I got a bargain for the price I paid.

The food was also very good. There is complimentary breakfast everyday with starbucks coffee. There is warm bar, bread, bagels, fruit, yogurt and coffee/tea. Everything was great.

Overall, this hotel was fabulous. I didn't mind paying an extra 15 dollars/night compared to the other hotels that were offered to me for my interviews because the service and quallity can't be beat. I highly recommend this hotel. (may now be called the hyatt).

The shuttle service will take you anywhere within a 3 mile

Room was recently renovated. Has a large flat screen TV, DVD player, plently of room on the desk for your laptop etc. Very secure parking garage. The free breakfast was okay. Definitely would stay again due to the nice room.

“Great place to stay for our puposes”

Hyatt Summerfield Suites Dallas/Uptown

4 of 5 stars
Amsterdam, New York
May 25, 2007

We stayed at the Bradford for a week last June on my first trip to Dallas. The suite had everything we needed. The continental breakfast was average. The rooms were clean. The only problem was that I got billed for a couple of phone calls made directly from the room that I know we didn't make because we all have cell phones.
(Probably the maid needed to make the calls.)

The location was great for us! Not right in the center of things but we were able to walk to downtown and also to pick up the McKinney Ave. Trolley. The parking was fantastic, with the key entry covered garage where you can park right on the floor of your room.

I had no need for restaurants nearby because I was visiting my boyfriend's hometown & family while there, so he took me all over. I think it would be a great place to stay for events at the American Airlines Center or Victory Plaza, which by the way, had not been built yet when I was there.

The pool area in the middle of the courtyard was nice, the workout room left something to be desired, no free weights.

We plan to go back to Dallas in October & will probably stay somewhere different, only because I like to try new places.

“Great Option for AA Arena Events”

Hyatt Summerfield Suites Dallas/Uptown

4 of 5 stars
Arizona
Feb 12, 2007

This is an extended stay hotel in a part of town that is not particularly happening, except for the fact that the American Airlines arena is just down the street. I think most of the clientelle is business travellers who are there for more than a few days, but they rent out their extra units on a nightly basis for a very very affordable rate.

The units are exceptionally clean, have a full kitchen, and the parking situation is outstanding. Basically, there is a parking garage next to the hotel, with an keyed-entry on every floor so you can basically park right on your floor. It's very convenient if you have groceries or large luggage. You can come as you go as you please, and parking is free.

There is no restaurant, but there is a little market where you can buy stuff to keep in your refrigerator or cook on your cooktop. There also is a better-than-I-expected buffet breakfast. The key advantage to this place is if you're going to events at American Airlines arean. The arena is a 6 minute walk if you take the short cut, and a 7 minute walk if you don't. In other words, it's very close. Several of the people staying there seemed to be folks from far away places in Texas that came for games (the mavericks and the stars play at AA) and didn't want to do the back and forth drive in one day.

The price was unbelievable -- we got an AAA deal that was less than a third of the price of the fancy W hotel which is also right near the arena. It's a little hard to find from the highway, so the front desk staff seemed a bit overwhelmed at times having to be on the phone to give directions. But they were otherwise very friendly and helpful. Given the nature of the extended stay accomodations and the fact that each room has a big kitchen and stuff, housekeeping takes a while, so I got the sense that early check ins and late check outs are rare.

If you're looking for a full comprehensive Dallas vacation hotel, this is probably not the place location wise. But if you want a kitchen, an actual bedroom with a door that closes off, free parking, and easy access, this is a great option. Very pleased with this choice.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Proximity to AA arena; large suite-style accomodations with full kitchen
    • Disliked — Pretty much everything other than arena requires driving. No restaurants, etc. in easy walk.
