“You must stay at Marblue”

If you are going to explore the South Coast of Jamaica, you must stay
at Marblue. The facility is beautifully designed so that each room/suite
has a fantastic view of the ocean and pool. Much thought has gone into
the layout and stylish personal touches. It turns out our host had been an
architect in a previous life and it shows in the property. Both Andrea and
Axel were extremely helpful and showed just the right amount of
being attentive. Our party ranged in age from 18 - 60 and we all loved
the place. We've traveled extensively in the Caribbean so have a good
sense of what passes for well thought out accomodations. Marblue
has the perfect mix of rusticity and high style. See their web site for
pictures...

I arrived at Marblue Hotel with some friends of mine we were looking for a wonderful time at this place and seeing that it was our first time I was expectimg to enjoy myself to the best. After been there for one week things were going ok but the lady that owns the hotel was alwasy so uptight and made everthing seems to bother her all the time they even had a time when not to use the pool it was anytime after 10pm and it made us not feel too welcome on our vacation. For the money that we spent we expected better service from the owners. The staff were wonderful from the front desk lady to the wonderful bedroom and kitchen staff who tired their best to make us feel welcome.I do belive that the ownners need to be more guest friendly. Thy even had a dog as security and the local people werent allowed on the property on like by Jakes hotel were the locals can come and spend a wonderful time with u. I will never return to Marble I will try Jakes next time it more caterd for persons who isnt so up tight.

We went to MarBlue for our honeymoon last month. The drive there is an experience :) but it was worth it! The owners greeted us immediately and showed us around. They have a bar and restaurant on site, as well as two pools, so we had all the conveniences one would need on their honeymoon. We were close enough to town that we could walk to Jack Sprat's to eat. We also felt safe and did not have a problem walking around by ourselves. We chartered a boat to the Pelican Bar one afternoon, which was awesome! We saw dolphins along the way. MarBlue had a/c, patios overlooking the ocean, and wonderful service. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The food is AWESOME! We had a wonderful time and hope to make it back to MarBlue soon.

“Nice Rooms, Uptight Hostess”

We wanted to stay at Jake's but it was booked solid due to a wedding. I let my buddy, the first timer, choose a hotel and he chose Mar Blue. Mar Blue is the most upscale hotel in all of Treasure Beach and everything about Mar Blue shows high class, with super-firm beds, nifty A/C, excellent pools and superb ocean view. We spent three nights here and had a nice, relaxing time in the pool chilling out and drinking away.

Having said all this, I would rather stay at Jake's like we did last time. If all you want is to come to Jamaica and stay at a place like Mar Blue and eat your meals here (the owner is a chef), drink their booze, and not go outside at nights, this is the place for you. I didn't care for the "illusion" that the owners tries to create that Treasure Beach is dangerous by using a cute little watchdog and 24-hour security. Also the locals were apparently not welcome in Mar Blue (this place is gated) and several locals that I spoke with did not like the owners, probably because they’ve alienated themselves with them.

I don’t think Mar Blue is for everyone. I’d rather hang out at Jakes or Jack Sprat’s where the locals can freely come and go and you can share stories with them. To me, Mar Blue is just one step away from an All Inclusive.

“The treasure is Marblue”

We just finished our second stay at Marblue Verandah...it's heavenly! A very small villa with only 9 rooms...fabulous food (especially if the owner, Axel is cooking!) however, Remma and occasionally Preacher cook and it's incredible! The rooms are very clean and spacious...2 pools that are well kept. The bar is nicely stocked and Andrea makes a mean Cosmo! The staff are all wonderful and the view at sunset beats Negril...although, we would really rather not tell too many people about Marblue, I couldn't help but finally have a report on this lovely area of Jamaica. You can find more information on Marblue by going to ---- ...

If you are looking for "all-inclusive", non-stop entertainment...this area is NOT for you...if however, you are looking for quiet, peaceful, romantic...old Jamaica...you will have found it in Treasure Beach, especially Marblue! The best way of getting there from Montego Bay or Kingston is Treasure tours...they run a great transport service. Always on time (amazing by Jamaican standards, excellent drivers...very polite...you can see any information on this area by going to ---- ...Yes, yes...you've heard of Jake's but this is sooo much more...thank you Jakes for bringing the attention of everyone to treasure beach...and too bad Jakes brought the attention!...

The other two places we have stayed recently are private villas...the first is Hikaru...incredible staff...Miss Joyce is everyone's Mom...we still visit her even if we can't book Hikaru...the owners are awesome as well!

The other villa was Sunsplash...nice ...3 bedrooms...nice pool...great location.

Please don't all hurry to Treasure Beach...we want to go again soon and I'd rather not find everything is booked solid!!!
