Based on the reviews here, we stayed at this Holiday Inn Express on our recent trip to Florida.
Everyone here was right. It was spotless; the staff was terrific; good location; nice breakfast in the morning; free wifi; stylishly decorated.
There is absolutely nothing negative to say. It is a great hotel along the I-95 corridor. I can't recommend it enough.

Recently stayed at the HIE in Florence on my way down to Orlando 07/21/07. The hotel was in very good condition since they recently did renovations across many of the HIE. The hotel was a very big surprise since this was the first HIE I have stayed. Unfortunately not all are updating as quickly i.e Selma, NC. I would definitely recommend a stay at this property!

I can only concur with the other travelers who have stayed in this hotel. It is fairly new but looks brand new. The rooms are very, very nice, possibly the nicest to be found along I-95. Great beds, furnishings, and an LCD TV with a fairly complete cable package. There is an individual thermostat that actually works, as well as thoughtful touches like an iron and ironing board, and a coffee maker.

There is also a pool that is small but good for laps, or for the kids to jump around in, and a hot tub that is very relaxing after a day in the car. There is also a small exercise room with top of the line cardio machines, as well as a small business center.

My only complaints are:
1. The "King Executive Suite" is not a suite at all. It is one larger room with a wet bar. If you are traveling with family and want separated living and sleeping areas, look elsewhere. The lack of such a suite at this hotel will keep me from booking again.
2. After living the high life in the excellent rooms, pool and fitness area, the spartan breakfast comes as a major letdown. The breakfast room is also very nice, but the best they had on offer during our stay was boiled eggs, cold cereal, instant grits, and watery juices.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Florence, SC near the Florence Civic Center on our way to Florida. It was one of the nicest hotel rooms we have ever had. The room had a refrigerator and an HDTV. The mattresses were very comfortable, we all slept soundly.

The breakfast was nice.

The only drawback was the pool which at the time was so heavily chlorinated that our eyes could feel it even not being in the pool.

The hotel is new and looks great. The area around the hotel is experiencing quite a bit of development. A new restaurant was opening down the street from the hotel.
