“A good stay at the Mall”

This is a brand new hotel right across the street from the Beavercreek Mall. Plenty of shopping and eating almost within walking distance. Right off the highway. It is well run, clean, very functional, and well located. Stayed here for business for 5 nights. Overall, a good value.

Travel 50-80 nites per year mostly for work and mostly at Marriott Prorperties - lots of Courtyards. Stayed here to be in close proximity to Wright Patterson AFB. Good business traveler location. Plenty of food options nearby. Beyond that this is just a typical Courtyard. I gave it a 3 but if I needed to get a little more detailed it probably would be more like a 3.1.

“There Are Better Courtyard's by Marriott”

Courtyard by Marriott Dayton Beavercreek

I selected this hotel because of good experience with other Courtyard motels and the very good weekend rate offered by this hotel. The hotel is sited adjacent to a nice shopping mall and it convenient to I-675 in Beavercreek. Check-in was easy but the I was a bit disappointed in the room size and bed comfort, as compared to other Courtyards in which I have stayed. Also, the mirrored bi-fold closet doors were difficult to open/close and the handle on one side was loose. I tightened the two screws holding the handle to the frame and both threads were stripped.
It was still a decent hotel, however: clean, modern, quiet and with complimentary internet acccess. There is also a small cafe off the lobby which provides breakfast for a fee. I would definitely consider staying there again, but not expect as much as I did on my first visit.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — Convenient location; great weekend rate
    • Disliked — Not as comfortable as prior Courtyards

“Exactly what you expect from a Courtyard and more”

Courtyard by Marriott Dayton Beavercreek

4 of 5 stars
Washington, DC

This was my third stay at this hotel in the past year and each time it has been the same. It is exactly what you expect from a Courtyard but perhaps the rooms are a slight bit larger than average.

Price: Always a great price at this location. I paid $116 / night and it included full breakfast. Without breakfast was an option and it would have been $7 less.

Cleanliness and Bedding: I think they have changed their mattrresses like most Marriotts at this point. They also use the new duvet covers and better pillows now rather than the nasty bedspreads they used to use. Room has always been VERY clean as well as public areas. One note is on my last trip, instead of leaving shampoo and conditioner in the shower, they left two conditioners. Honest mistake as the bottles look alike.

Service: It has always been great for me at this location. My most recent trip I checked out to go to my meeting. When I had a few extra hours before my evening flight, I went back to the hotel with several associates and they let us use one of their conference rooms and free internet for a meeting at no charge. I'm sure this was the exception but how nice. And no, I don't believe they recognized us as earlier guests and they did not ask either. Wow!

Breakfast: The same buffet that you find at any Courtyard and nothing to write home about. Hard bagels, questionable freshness of the fruit, etc. I'm kind of neurotic about food handling and freshness so maybe it's just me but I feel this is an area that needs to be improved upon at this location as well as others.

Location: It adjoins a large mall with other smaller shopping centers on the frindges. Many chain resturaunts also abound very close by. It is not in the downtown area, but a popular location if you have meetings at WPAFB or with contractors in the area. It is also within a mile of the meetings I had to be at so this was prime for me. It is about 25 minutes from the airport door to door. On a side note, it is less expensive for you to rent a car than to take a cab to and from the airport. Cab fare after tip is around $50.

Summary: Quality you expect from Courtyard, Great service, very clean. Only thing I did not care for was the breakfast. Only reason this does not get 5 stars is the breakfast, but cleanliness and service almost makes up for it.

“Had some problems”

Courtyard by Marriott Dayton Beavercreek

3 of 5 stars
Bonaire, Georgia

Just got back from a business trip to Wright Patterson AFB. 26-30 Jun 2006 The Courtyard Marriott had a beautiful view of the Fairfield Commons Mall, which was within walking distance. All of the other chain restaurants/retail stores were within a short driving distance.

The staff at the Marriott was adaquate. The biggest problem I had was with the hot water. On two of the four mornings, it was barely hot when the faucet was turned all the way to the left. On one morning, it was merely warm and switched to cool during the shower. I notified the front desk, and luckily, the manager happened to be there. He had it corrected within 24 hours.

They have an adequate breakfast buffet for $7.95. The "Fireside Lounge" which supposedly exists from 3-11 PM seemed to consist only of cracker mixes, cookies and picutures of beer/wine/liquor kept under lock and key.

They did offer free high speed wireless internet access, which is not as common as one would think in 3 star hotels. The rooms were exceptionally cold natured, which was a plus for me.

Would I stay here again? Probably not, unless I was satisfied the Hot water issues was under control..
