We got stuck in Roswell for three days because of a weather conditions. Luckily, we got the last available room at the Comfort Inn. The hotel was at capacity with a lot of unhappy, frustrated travellers who wanted to be somewhere else. But, the hotel staff made the stay pleasant. They had not planned on being fully booked, but maintained a smooth operation, despite bad weather. The breakfast room was well stocked and the staff in the breakfast room was the most friendly and helpful I have seen. The staff was patient with tired travellers and children that were tired of being inside of a hotel for several days. In the three days we were there, we did not hear a single complaint--surprising for any hotel, but especially so during such a negative situation for so many of the guests. The hotel did have some construction going on--but we never heard any of it or saw any miss. The only negative was the "hot tub" which was smaller than a bath tub and as cold as the pool water, but the indoor pool is nice.

We always stay at the Comfort Inn in Roswell at least 4 to 5 times a year, it's close to Ruidoso and it our base for day trips around. There are plenty of good restaurants from New Mexican cuisine to European anything to suit your taste buds.
