Even though their are no ground rooms the manager was very accomadating for our child with disabilities. We were allowed to keep her wheelchair by the office and just carried our daughter up to our room. The manager went out of his way to assist us in getting access to one of those beach accessible handicap wheelchairs. He checked up on our family at various times to ensure our comfort and meet our needs.

We did not hear any noise in our rooms from the boardwalk but enjoyed the close access to the beach. I would reccommend this motel to any of our friends as a no-frills but very nice motel to stay at. The purpose of our trip was to enjoy the beach and we did! We hope to return next year!

The location of the hotel is great, the rest...

Very narrow parking. Expect dings. No first floor rooms, everything upstairs (no handicapped). Book an oceanfront room, you will hear noise from the boardwalk.

Despite the negatives above, my family enjoyed their stay in September and wanted to return. I looked at the motel's online rates, called them up, and was quoted a higher rate. I pointed out the online price and was rudely told it was wrong. When I pressed for the quoted online price, the person on the phone (the manager?) continued to rudely respond, this time louder.

We chose a different motel to spend our three day annual September vacation and will not go back.

Once again, for the 5th year in a row, we had a great time at the Ocean Front Motel. This motel gives us everything we need to have a nice (and our only) vacation every year. Located at a quiet end of the boardwalk, we park and just "live" on the ocean for 5 days at a time. The rooms are clean and fresh every time we have come. John remembers us from year to year on a first-name basis. He and his office helpers have been kind and have made us feel so at home. John gives us extras that make it worth coming back to this motel. Although check-in is at 3:00 PM, we get there early in the morning anyway. With early access to our partking space and an outdoor shower/bathroom area, we get our beach tags early and start our day. Not a minute is wasted waiting around for the room. We pack lunch in a cooler and bring snacks for the week, as well as some "beverages" to enjoy in the evening (since Ocean City is a "dry town). There is a fridge in each room and an ice machine down in the parking area. The price is the best around town that we can find for ocean-front lodging. Last year we had a scare (the motel was almost sold and converted to condos). I got on line and there was nothing comparable in price. Improvements surprise us every year. This year is was an updated outdoor shower area and new TV's in every room. The pleasant patio areas (redone several years ago) are conducive to chats with other vacationers and a great view of the boardwalk and ocean. Every morning there is fresh coffee and tea, and treats from Dunkin' Donuts. Although we are at the quiet end of the boardwalk, we are still extremely close to several favorite (and relatively cheap) restaurants (Bob's and the Beach Club). We are 1/2 block from a bike rental place (at Bob's) and it is even walking distance to CVS for those last minute things you might need. All in all, Ocean Front is a great place to stay. We book our room a year in advance to get the best rates, and a guarentee that we will have a great week the following year! Good job John, you are a huge asset to this motel and we love how you run the place!!!! It would not be the same without you!!!

I agree with the last poster on most counts. Even though our room was clean, I can tell you that this is a bare bones establishment in dire need of a renovation. The fittings and fixtures are getting worn and, even though they've done some patchwork here and there, it looks messy. Our tub wouldn't drain at all once there was water in it. You had to hold it open and then it would drain very, very slowly. The air conditioning never reached the bathroom so it was always sweltering hot in there. There is no alarm clock in the room or phone. Don't expect a coffee maker or microwave either in the 'regular' rooms. The towels are paper thin and have definitely seen better days. The best thing about this motel is its proximity to the boardwalk and the ocean/beach. I'm not sure if you could do better for the price and location in Ocean City. This was our first visit and we do hope to come back again. It just won't be to this motel.
