We always stay here when flying out of Newark. The rooms are quiet and comfortable. They used to have a pool table in the bar, which was fun to hang out in and eat appetizers and a lite dinner.
Last time we were there they were renovating the whole downstairs and the pool table was gone along with the great bar.
Don't know how much they have changed it . We will find out in November when we head out of Newark again. May have to look for a new favorite newark hotel - with a pool table.

As far as the employees - this is Newark - not known for 1st class service.

My wife and I stayed at the Hilton so we could catch an early morning flight to Phoenix out of Newark. This was a very nice airport hotel. The rooms were very clean, the bed super comfortable, the bathroom was bright, modern, and clean, and best of all you did not hear any noise from the airport or routes 1 and 9. The staff was cordial, and even the Newarker restaurant served a decent burger. The lobby is a bit dark and depressing, but overall the hotel was about as good as you could do for an airport hotel. We had a 5:00am shuttle to the Terminal. The first bus was full, so they brought another around to deal with the overload. The only drawback is the price. I felt $170 pre-paid was steep considering where you are. I originally had a reservation at the Ramada, but cancelled it since it looked a bit creepy. Overall, probably better than 98% of the other Newark Airport Hotels, just watch the price

First off, we just needed a room for the night before a cruise out of NYC. We weren't looking for fancy, which is how we scored the Hilton on priceline for $55 + tax. Checkin was easy. Staff were nice and even helpful. Lobby renevations looked complete. Room was standard. Clean. Quiet. Bathroom was a little small, but adequate and clean. Parking was 8 bucks. Kind of stinks but better then what we paid in NYC the next night. Can't beat the Hilton, especially if you get a great rate!

My wife and I recently stayed two nights at the Hilton Newark Airport. We were happy to find that our room had been recently renovated -- but what really needs renovation is the attitude of the staff. Some examples:
- Front desk staff insults my wife for not informing them that we had extended our reservation, and then questions whether she is actually staying in the room. They acted very confrontational and did not apologize.
- We request help with our bags; 15min later and nobody arrives to help, and so I go to the front desk to re-request help. We later find out that they never alerted the bag attendant that we requested service.
- Restaurant hostess is seating us at our table for breakfast, but stops halfway to clean up another table and then tells us to go "sit somewhere over there" -- and doesn't give us menus
- Restaurant waitress (at dinner) recommends an absolutely terrible, cheap (but way overpriced) wine, and doesn't bring us utensils
- Overall, no smiles, no hospitable attitude, and almost all the staff seemed like they hated their jobs

If you must stay at this hotel, just beware --
