It was a dark and rainy night on the weekend before Halloween. My niece and I were driving from the congested Washington, D.C. area after work that Friday. Our arrival was late, 10:30 to 11:00pm. Our generous hostess, Laura, was not only waiting up for us, but she also invited us to use a spare second room so we could each have a luxurious, peaceful sleep. We could not have asked for a warmer welcome.
With the Columbia House and the entire town decorated for Halloween, it could not have been more festive. No breakfast? No problem. With its central location we were able to dine in a variety of old and favorite haunts...and we were only a block from the beach!
The hospitality was impeccable. Jim even popped in to light our fireplace and ward off the autumn chill.
The overall experience was of a first class establishment, thoughtfully maintained with beautiful antiques and modern appliances. The rooms were spotlessly clean, roomy, and comfortable. I recommend the Columbia House without hesitation.
