We stayed at the Columbia House this October 2007, after not being in Cape May for many years and we feel that couldn't have picked a better place. The beauty and cleanliness of the hotel, the great location, the important extra details and the extremely friendly attitude of the proprietors really made us feel immediately welcome, relaxed and comfortable. We would definitely stay at the Columbia House the next time we visit Cape May !

We were lucky enough to be in Cape May this past September enjoying the extension of the summer (water temp was 71 degrees) and even more lucky to have booked our stay at the Columbia House, Ocean Street. What a pleasant and peaceful stay. It exceeded our expectations. A major part of this wonderful time in Cape May is attributed to the Columbia House. From the time we checked in to our departure we have nothing but good things to say and nothing but good memories. We are two couples that make it a point to get together at least once a year and stay in Cape May. In previous years we would stay in a Bed and Breakfast and they happen to all be nice and we would have, most of the time, a pleasant stay. But, this year we decided we wanted a suite and more privacy so you couldn't have asked for a more beautiful and spacious suite then the Turret Suite in the Columbia House. Another great thing about the Columbia House are the Innkeepers, Laura and Jim. They are wonderful and make you feel very comfortable like you are a guest in their home. We are all planning to return next year, no need to be staying at any different properties in Cape May as was our normal practice in previous years. We have found "our place" and look forward to our next visit.

After reading other high praise reviews for The Columbia House, we were thrilled to book our first-time trip to Cape May with a week's stay in their Turret Suite. It was even better than we anticipated. The rooms were very clean, and the house is perfectly situated with a block to the beach, two blocks to the outdoor mall, and 3 blocks to the grocery store. But most importantly of all, the owners, Laura and Jim, were so helpful, so nice, and around everyday to answer questions or just engage in pleasant conversation. Our kids enjoyed the porch swing every night, watching the trolleys and carriages go by. Cape May is full of family-oriented activites, from the lighthouse to the zoo to the Cold Spring Village area... but we mostly were on the beach everyday. The Columbia House has a beautiful outdoor shower to clean off the sand before returning to your room. It was a wonderful family vacation, and if we return to Cape May, we would definitely stay at The Columbia House again!

If you are looking for a relaxing summer vacation than Cape May, NJ is the place to go. It is very family oriented and the perfect getaway. We have been staying at the Columbia House in Cape May for 4 years now and it just keeps getting better every year! The owners, Jim and Laura, take such pride in preparing their guests accommodations and really make going to the beach enjoyable and easy. They supply linens for each of their suites, beach chairs and a terrific outdoor shower stocked with everything imaginable. We will continue our summer vacations in Cape May staying at the Columbia House for many more years.
