“Wonderful time!”

Tropicana Express

My husband and I are both from Hawaii and we tremendously enjoyed our 5 days and 4 nights stay at Tropicana Express during the Memorial Day weekend (May 21-25 2008).

Upon arrival at the front desk, we were greeted friendly and given information of the hotel and also what they had to offer as far as service and other things we could do around the hotel.

Since we haven't been back to Laughlin/Las Vegas in 9 yrs., it was much things we had to see and learn about the area and also the new slot machines. We had to learn about the player's card and how it works and what deals they had to offer on the cards. It was wonderful not to touch the coins and get your hands on black and only to receive a voucher to see what owes to you! And of course, I had better luck here than anywhere else at other casinos.

Our room was excellent. I am a disabled person and had requested a ADA accessible room. It was well equiped with the handle bars near the toilet and also the walk in shower. One thing though there wasn't any place to hang your towels after you used them, so we used the handle bars by the toilet. Oh well! I used my walker handles to lift me off the toilet seat!

All in all, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and the furnishings was in good condition and like new. Nothing was broken or chipped on the furnitures and everything worked well.

I almost forgot to mention that the Mexican Restaurant (Cantina) was excellent. My husband and I both enjoy Mexican food and we truely enjoyed our meal.

My husband and I both recommend this hotel to other people and we plan to stay there againon our next trip to Laughlin.

Our 8 year old did not enjoy our stay because there is not a lot for children to do. There was a small childrens arcade with a few games but not a lot. The room was clean and comfortable. It was booked as a river view room but we had a very small view of the river. There were other hotels blocking the view of the river. Next time we will stay at one of those hotels.

Stopped here in May, this must be our sixth stay, first under the new onwership.
We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms in the adult tower over looking the Belle and river.
Again the room was very clean, comfy bed with lovely white sheets. We like the plantation shutters on the windows, good for keeping out the bright sunlight. Bathroom again clean but not luxorious, nice towels and plenty of toiletries.
When ever we had contact with staff, from reception to our room maid, they were always polite, friendly and helpful. We did notice the usual mature ladies at the cafe under the stairs were no longer there.
Again loved the hotel, but did not eat at the buffet.
Overall another good stay.

“Comp A Room”

Tropicana Express

When we travel to Laughlin, we usually end up staying at the Tropicana Express because we like the rooms. We have been receiving mail advertisements for free rooms, so we decided to call the property and take them up on the offer. The room was exactly what we had expected, however, what we didn't expect was a bed that looked as though someone had been napping on it, a shower and toilet that were not clean, amd loud noises until almost 3 in the morning! When we called to complain, the front staff acted as though they couldn't be bothered. I guess you get what you get when you are comped a room.

Do not eat at the Tropicana Exoress either. Had dinner at the Roundhouse Buffer ( 5/23 ) and it was the worst food I have ever tasted.

We will not stay here again.

“Not so good”

Tropicana Express

May 23, 2008

We contacted the hotel directly. Reservations guaranteed our room, a king, no smoking upgrade in the remodeled tower. We arrived mid afternoon and were greeted by a rude, angry desk clerk who said that our reservation ment only that we had secured any room in their hotel. She assigned us a double, smoking, regular room in the older tower. After much unpleasant dialogue we were told to wait on a bench for three hours until a manager could be located. The manager at last gave us the room we had reserved, however it was a great disappointment, not as advertised, not even close. The manager verified their hotel policy about no specific reservation for room type, saying it was their standard policy and that the reservation personnel had made a mistate. By the way, you must go to the lobby in the tower to purchase ($1.75-3.00) coffee each morning. I would never stay there again, there are many nicer places to stay ( as we soon found out ).
