We had no problems staying at the River Palms and I was expecting the worst after reading some of the reviews on here.

Check in was quick and efficient - and the young man at the desk very friendly!

We may be easy to please but we found the room to be quiet, spacious and clean. The decor is dated but then so are we :o)

We overlooked the pool and the river in a non smoking wing which suited us perfectly. The only problem was a really loud mouthed woman who thought it was a great idea to sit in the hot tub at 7:30 in the morning and yak on her cell phone - but the hotel can't be held respobsible for inconsiderate people. I just shut the window and put in my trusty earplugs.

We ate once at the buffet - late night - and enjoyed it. The servers were great!

We would stay at the River Palms again - we love the river walk.

My fiance and I took a trip to Laughlin for his company's annual summer excursion.

It was my first trip to Laughlin so i was looking forward to it. I knew it was MUCH smaller than Las Vegas so I already knew what to expect.

We checked in with out a hitch, it only took about 10-15 minutes. The front staff was friendly enough and promptly handed us our room key.

Our room was average at best, the decor made me crack up to be honest with you. The walls were lavender and matched our floral pastel bead spread LOL.

Room overall was clean, a few of the bathroom tiles need to be replaced as well as the counter.

We received two tickets for the buffet and the dinner buffet was to be honest not that great at all. Breakfast was much better.

We caught a comedy show and that was definately worth it and VERY reasonably priced, I think it came out to $18.00 a ticket but I don't remember the exact amount.

Decided to walk to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner one night and we all really worked up an appetite LOL. Recommend eating there outside if the weather permits.

Overall we had a good time. The hotel is a little run down and worn, but all you really do is sleep in your room and it is Laughlin so what do you expect.

If your going to Laughlin with Las Vegas on your mind then don't bother, you'll be disappointed.

First the bad news. SInce they switched owners of the Italian Restuarant, it has never been good! All you can eat? Why bother when you have to wait an hour on another plate! We gave them another try and just as bad as the year before. THey have a steak house and good cafe so go with that or even better, early bird special at the Edge Water is the best meal (downstairs steakhouse near buffett) in Laughlin. Rooms have never been a problem for my wife and I and never noticed the housekeeping staff. I play the Poker Room and staff is great and have good tournaments. I miss the big pirate ship on the downstairs bar but everything is spacious. River Palms is near the end of the strip and with a gap between them and Harrahs, it isnt an easy walk. You are next door to Golden Nugget which is never bad. I tend to stay here every time w/o a problem. Enjoy!

From the exterior of the hotel I wasn't pinning high hopes on the hotel room, but it turns out fine :) The room was comfortable and nice, and my room faces a river. The location wasn't that fantastic as there are nothing much to do around the hotel.

I had the most fun playing blackjack at this casino of this hotel, perhaps it wasn't as intimidating as the casinos in Vegas, the croupiers (Jennifer and Gigi) are friendly and adds on to the fun! Kudos to them!
