I have stayed at every casino/hotel in Laughlin at one time or the other. The Edgewater is one of the best for your buck hotels in Laughlin. I prefer staying at Harrah's, the Golden Nugget or even the Ramada. The Edgewater has a better location for casino hopping though. Their buffet is better than average, but not quit as good as the one at Harrah's. I stayed at the Edgewater for a reunion with some Navy buddies. I would stay there again if the price was right.
The first night I did not have reservations and had to take a deluxe room at the weekend premium price. We found the room not cleaned or the beds made. We notified the front desk and I requested another room. Instead they had me call house keeping to have the room cleaned. We went out for dinner while the room was cleaned. We had to remake the beds ourselves. The maid had just thrown the sheets on the bed and didn't tuck anything in. No doubt the house cleaning crew was swamped with the weekend crowd. Besides the house cleaning problem it was a nice room. I liked the roomy bathroom, but not the cheap packets of shampoo.
The next night we changed over to the standard room at weekday prices. Which was $19- one fouth the cost of the previous room. Which was clean and the beds made properly with a smaller bathroom, less furniture and a smaller TV. I was impressed that both rooms were quiet and I got a good nights sleep. I am a very light sleeper.
The Edgewater does have wireless internet service, but they charge for it. I remember the cost was $9.99 for 24 hours. There were shorter time periods for small costs. I did not use it. If I were to critize the Edgewater for anything. It would be for not providing free wireless internet service. My first room not being cleaned. I can overlook, because it was just a mere oversight from a very busy crew. I found all the employees at the Edgewater very courteous and would stay there again. Although I would prefer a hotel that provides free wireless internet service. All the casino/hotels in Laughlin need to get on this bandwagon.
