“Great hotel for the price!!”

I don't understand all the people complaining about this hotel. It is a cheap hotel that is close to the strip. You cannot expect the Mandalay Bay. I've stayed at the Riviera and the Flamingo and they are similar. The rooms are large and yes they do need updating, but everything was clean. There were two beds. The first one by the door was by far not as comfortable as the second bed, which was wonderful. The A/C is loud but not any louder than any other hotel at this price range. I loved it because it gave me white noise to sleep to. YOU ARE IN A CITY.. stop complaining that you can't sleep in total silence.

The shuttle was always timely and we never had a problem with it being too full. It is super convenient. It drops you off right by cesars palace.

The Courtyard Cafe in the hotel has THE BEST sticky bun french toast i've every had. (well i've actually never seen that before so it's actually the first i've ever had) It was fantastic.

There was one problem, the hot water was out for about 20 minutes at about 11pm on Tuesday. I called the front desk and they said they were fixing a leak and it would be back on in 20 min. Which it was promptly.

As usual, we found the Orleans to be one of he best values in Las Vegas. Big rooms, clean, good gaming odds, lots to do, just far enough off the Strip to be convenient. A strong selection of good restaurants. Movie theater, bowling, and more.
They do have a smoke removal problem, and have discontinued their guest coupon book.

“Excellent stay at The Orleans”

Absolutely loved the Orleans. The value cannot be touched by any of the strip properties. We had a rental car so navigating the 2 mile trip to LVBLVD was not really an issue. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Housekeeping was excellent. Parking was plentiful. The standard rooms were huge. The hotel was exceptionally clean. The only negatives we found were: 1. The French Market Buffet is mediocre at best. 2. The rooms could be soundproofed a little bit better. All in all though a great off-strip property.

“Wow, couldn't beat the price.”

We had to find a place to stay cheap in a hurry and we booked thru i4vegas.com and we got rooms for $33 Thurs and $54 Fri and Sat nite. I asked for a fridge to hold my medicine, and they were prompt and friendly. They had a $5 resort fee for entrance to the spa and fitness center that we did not use. This fee also covered local phone calls and coffee maker and computer useage in the business center. They said you got 30 mins of free computer use, but DH went waaaayyyy over that time and they didn't say anything.

The room itself was nice and clean, and my DD was wearing white socks and they were still pretty white after her walking around the room. Yes, the bed was a bit hard, but clean. We had a n/s king, with a desk and a sofa and an another chair with a nice coffee table. Bathroom had nice goodies. Shampoo, soap, conditioner, lotion, shower gel AND mouthwash. Shower cap too! The safe was in the bathroom and it was plenty big and secure for our electronics. We had a nice view of the strip. Although, I would try to get a room a bit further from the elevator, because we had some drunken fight going on around 4:45 am - ugh.

Housekeeping didn't quite understand when we said we only needed shampoo and a few towels, she kept trying to make up the room.

If you sign up for their club card, you get a coupon for a free breakfast or lunch buffet. The breakfast buffet was pretty average, powered scrambled eggs, and an busy omlette station. I was impressed with the sweet potato pancakes.

Parking was a bit difficult, but I attribute that to a large convention and valet wasn't bad. I would say this is a hotel that is good for someone who is in Vegas with wheels. The shuttle drops you off at Bill's (formerly Barnaby Coast) across from Caesars.

The wait for food at TGIF was a bit much. Apparently they had a brand new menu and was still learning how to cook it.

Never got a chance to try the slots.

The line to check in was pretty good when we checked in, but when we were going to check out late Sat afternoon, the line was long.

Apparently, they have a bowling center and a child care center that guests can use. Our DD was too young, must be 2.5 and potty trained, but it may be helpful for others. I called a service from the Concierge from another property and was quoted $45 an hour, 4 hr min.

For the price, I feel like we got an excellent deal and I wouldn't mind staying at the Orleans again.

“A good choice for an off Strip Hotel”

The Orleans Hotel & Casino

Having stayed at the Orleans in the past I knew that it was a nice property with large clean rooms and a pleasant casino. Check in was smooth and I recieved a room on the 10th floor with a strip view. Clean room, good climate control, and a safe that was bolted down. I had read in previous reviews that the safes were not secured. This has been addressed.
The gaming is not quite the same as it was prior to Boyd taking over, but the tables were busy, and I enjoyed the VP at the bar with good bartender service.
I rent a car, which is recommended if your stay off strip. It allows much more flexibility than the shuttle to the strip can provide.
I ate late night at the coffee shop and the service was quick and pleasant. I also ate at Don Miguels for the 1/2 price appetizers. Service there was not as nice, but the food was good. I've had a good experience having dinner there in the past.
Overall the Orleans is a good choice if you want an off strip hotel that is not too flashy like Rio or Palms, but not a dump like Terribles.
