This was our 4th trip to Vegas, and each time we try to stay somewhere different... this was the first year for us that Planet Hollywood was an option since it changed from the Aladdin and I was keen to try it out...

We stayed here during 4th July weekend, so the check in probably took a little longer than usual, about 20 minutes. However, we did arrive at about 1pm and our room was ready, which was just what we needed after a 10 hour flight from the UK.

We were given one of the remodelled rooms overlooking the Bellagio fountains. We had a Dick Tracy room, which had a machine gun and some little rings and other bits and bobs under the glass table top, a nice touch

The room itself was an average (for the US) size with 2 queen beds, but the bathroom was big, with a separate shower and tiolet and a stand alone bath

We also had a plasma TV on one wall, and here is our only moan - it was a little difficult to see ffrom the bed, and it wasnt straight on the wall !! Thats not a big deal though - who goes to Vegas to stay in and watch TV anyway ?

The decor in the room was fine, new carpets etc so overall a good choice for us at a reasonable price.

I enjoyed being in the casino, though we dont gamble it seems to have a really good atmosphere - music without being too in your face, or putting off any specific age ranges. When the jet lag kicked in it was great to be able to go downstairs and get a coffee and a bite to eat at 3 in the morning ! Strange though to share a lift with younger guests just going out for the night !!

We did the spice market buffet and it was good - loved the american section the best, good value for money if you can eat well !

I liked the miracle mile shops - still yet to be completel remodelled - I dont remember it being too different to the last time we were there but good shops and restaurants all the same

Overall we enjoyed our experience at PH and would stay there again

Well we stayed at Planet Hollywood and had a so so stay. Our room wasn't what I had booked So I was upset. I booked a non-smoking room with a king size bed, but when we got there we had 2 Queen beds in a smoking room. I explained that this was our honeymoon so I really want a king bed. so the desk person said maybe the next day one will open. so we came back to the same person the next night and he said that he didn't have any kings avaible. so he would up grade us to a room over looking the Bellagio fountain. Still no king bed. so I didn't feel like fighting so we took it. Yeah it was nice but I wanted what I reserved 4 months before our trip. Would I stay there again? No! It was my honeymoon and they didn't care. This hotel was for the very young and rich. The party crowd. I mean like early 20's. I would stay at the Bellagio the next time.

“Hotel staff was incompetent and portrayed hotel poorly”

My first stay at this hotel and as a starwood preferred guest I was happy they are now Starwood. However, when I arrived at hotel, the preferred line was not staffed, when I asked someone to assist me I was told to go to the 'regular' line which turned out to be pointless because I ended up at the Preferred line anyway in the end. When I asked for the upgrade, I have always been entitled to as a Gold member, I was told I had to take smoking, and a room that was not a newly remodelled room. I inquired about a discount for upgraded rooms and was informed that for a "twenty" in cash that could be "arranged". What is that all about?
Poorly run, guest service was absolutely awful, room was poorly lit, and a hotel that encourages solicitation to their supposedly most valued guests, makes this hotel probably the worst I have stayed in, in the last ten years. I much prefer the older starwood hotel on Flamingo-atleast there, I am treated like a Preferred member and not a second class citizen.
Would not recommend it to my worst enemy.

“Don't fall for the time share BS”

My wife and I loved the hotel and casino. It is centrally located in the middle of The Strip. Our room had a MASH theme which faced the Bellagio fountains. The bathroom was huge, which I thought wasted a little space. I liked that you could buy beer at the convienence stores in the Miracle Mile Shops. The only thing I had a problem with was that we got hounded every 15 seconds to go check out a time share presentation. Which we regrettably did. I'm a salesman and know all about a hard sell, but Jeez Louise, these people wouldn't take no for an answer. It got to the point to where I almost walked away without my free buffet coupons. If you are interested, though, don't take what they first offer you, because they will show you the REAL DEALS when you tell them no the first time. QUIT HOUNDING PEOPLE, PH, and this will be just about perfect.

“Awesome Location, food, room!”

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino

My husband and I stayed here last weekend and loved it! After reading several other reviews I was starting to worry, but the place was outstanding!

In this fabulous lobby area that made me smile just being there, we waited only a few minutes to check in. I reserved a regular room (I believe they call it the deluxe) but asked if there were any rooms facing the fountain. After explaining that everybody wants Fountain View rooms and that they are an extra $40/day (and pausing to see if I'd take the bait to upgrade-I didn't), the man at the check-in counter said he'd give it to me free! All he had left were smoking rooms facing the fountain though. We took it and it was fabulous! I could tell it was a smoking room because there were a few ultra-clean ashtrays in the room, but otherwise we couldn't tell at all. There was no smoke smell! And the view!! Our room was on the 24th floor (perfect!) and I would recommend requesting a room on an upper floor like ours for the best view.

The rooms are decorated in deep purple, mustard, and black. And in true Hollywood style, each room has a theme. Ours was Good Will Hunting complete with props and framed stills from the movie. The tv was a 42" LCD flat screen-very nice. We enjoyed watching some late night (early morning) tv from the comfortable king sized bed.

There is also a large desk and trendy chair, but be forewarned that high-speed internet access is only offered for an additional daily fee. Although it wasn't much (I think it was around $12/day), we decided not to use it so I cannot comment on that service.

The whole room was fabulous but what truly outshined other rooms we've stayed in in Las Vegas (Stratosphere and Luxor) was the bathroom. With a separate glass shower stall, toilet room, and garden tub built for two the bathroom was impressive. The marble tile floor and trendy sink fixtures were a nice touch too.

My husband and I are not gamblers and never hit any of the gaming tables but we still felt drawn to the casino floor. With subdued neon-style lighting and pumping club music, it was just a fun place to be!

Friday night we had dinner at The Strip House which is an upscale steakhouse in Planet Hollywood. The decor is trendy, the food is delicious, the service was fast. Be prepared to unload a lot of cash here though. A strip steak was over $50. Sides start at $12. We're talking $12 for some broccoli. It was worth it though! My husband had the filet mignon and I had the lobster linguine. Our appetizer was warm garlic bread in melted Gorgonzola. The chef sent out some complimentary drinks. What a dinner!

The Spice Market Buffet earned best buffet in Las Vegas in 2007, and it showed. The brunch Saturday morning was perfect. It was colorful, flavorful, fresh (there were several made-to-order stations) and the service was truly awesome for any restaurant let alone a buffet!

Planet Hollywood is centrally located and is right across the street from the Bellagio (go see Cirque du Soleil's "O" at the Bellagio). There is a large mall adjacent called the Miracle Mile with stores for all budgets and tastes and a fabulous restaurant area done up Vegas style to look like the outdoors at dusk.

Would I go back? Absolutely!
