Stayed at the Grand Chateau May 5 - May 9 in a King room on the 27th floor facing the Polo Towers and Strip, booked through the Marriott website.
Location is very nice, just a very short walk up Harmon to S Las Vegas Blvd. And across Harmon is Planet Hollywood, which will pretty much be your "home casino" while staying at the Grand Chateau.
For those who are up for walking, you can easily walk to MGM Grand, Monte Carlo, New York-New York, Excalibur, Tropicana, Paris, Bally's, and Bellagio. And once MGM City Center is finished, that'll be right there too!
Valet parking was complimentary, but you couldn't tell that by the effort put forth by the crew, as they were on top of everything. Good attitudes, good hustle, good service.
No problems at check-in, a few minutes and I was headed to my room.
Good bank of elevators, 6 total I believe. Never had to wait more than 30 seconds going up or down.
Rooms are nice, with a nice layout and a decent "kitchenette" setup including a fridge, microwave, toaster, sink, plates, utensils, etc. Most important for me were the wine glasses and corkscrew.
The dresser/armoire setup was good, the sleeper sofa decent, and the bed.. I love Marriott's beds at this hotel level. So comfy.
Bathroom is spacious, with a nice counter top surrounding the sink so there's ample room for stuff. The shower isn't fancy, but does the job. Most importantly, shower head was tall enough for me at 6'2". And yes, the water got to SCALDING hot very easily, so watch out! But I'll take that over NO hot water any day!
The construction at the PH and City Center sites was not enough to wake me up in the morning, and I didn't notice it much at all while in the room at different times of the day.
For anyone wanting to be near the strip but not wanting to deal with the craziness that goes with casino hotels, this place is GREAT!
