Booked this hotel through the Universal website for a great price and reviewed it over and over again on this site, and the reviews were not wrong. The best hotel for service, cleanliness and general atmosphere I have ever stayed in. We even took a shortcut through a small grass field and we were on International drive within two minutes!!
So location was perfect!
Rooms were great, we had a standard room with two double beds and plenty of storage space. Beds were so comfortable!
Breakfast always had plenty of food and a good choice.
The front desk staff are top dollar, so friendly with good tips and advice all the time.
Swimming pool was small but always warm and the jaccuzi was lovely, open late too so great for relaxing after a long day at the parks!!
Shuttle was great, the last stop before universal and sea world/aquatica so you would arrive within minutes!
The hotel lobby is being re-decorated at the minute but with no disruption to guests and I just know it will be beautiful when finished.
I will be, without a doubt, staying at this hotel on future holidays to Orlando.

This was a really nice hotel. We usually stay somewhere else on International dr, but they were full, so we tried this. Everything worked, the staff was very friendly and didn't hesitate to help. The continental breakfast had a nice assortment and was being watched over to make sure items were refilled. We definitely will stay here again. It is close to Universal and Sea world. The pool and hot tub were refreshing and there is a 'snack store'.

We stayed here for a week through a Virgin fly drive holiday and couldn't have had a better location. You have all the convenience of International Drive, but none of the noise! In fact, you can avoid driving along much of I Drive by using Universal Blvd instead, and avoid traffic jams - its a great way to get to Universal Studios and Sea World for example.
We had a suite, which was great - spacious, very clean with quality towels and bedlinen. There was also a fridge, microwave and coffee/tea maker.
Breakfast was good, with a lot of choice, but could get very crowded.
It was good to have tea/coffee/chocolate available at all times. Also, a computer with internet access was available for guests to use free of charge in the lobby.
I liked the pool area, as the sunbeds are free, towels are provided, and I enjoyed a swim.
If we return to Orlando, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.

I chose the Fairfield inn based on tripadvisor reviews and I was not disappointed. It was an excellent deal for the price. After comparing prices on several websites I actualy found that booking on the hotel website itself was the cheapest option. We booked a King suite since we were staying for awhile and the room was spacious, pleasently decorated and the bed was extremely comfortable.
Of course this is not a 4 start hotel: the breakfast plates were plastic, the pool is small etc. But it stands out from other hotels in its class because of the pleasant decoration, cleanliness, friendly personel and spacious wel maintained rooms.
Amnities:
We used the shuttle service to universal studies twice. you had to reserve a seat but both times we didnt and it was not a problem. We also used the 15% discount on restaurants within universal.
The breakfast was continental which suites me just fine. I especially appreciated the healthier options like fresh fruit , oatmeal and whole weat bagles. The personel kept restocking the breakfast throughout the morning
We enjoyed the pool a few times. The water was pretty cold but we warmed up afterwards in the hottub. It was never crowded in the pool area.
TIP: We came back to the area for one night at the end of our trip. This night we booked while staying in the hotel earlier. I found out that the hotel offers a discount for Orlando Magic Card holders which is a card you can just download from the internet. With this card I received a 20 dollar discount on this final night.
