We had been to Key West numerous times before and always stayed in one of the Hotels so this time we wanted to stay at a B&B. Parking was in the driveway next to the Inn. When checking in the staff was very cordial and helpful. Gave us some good tips. We rented a moped one block away, so the car stayed at the Inn the whole weekend. Parking is almost non existant in Key West and you can park a moped almost anywhere.
The front desk person helped us with tours and recommended some great breakfast restaurants close by.
The room was ok and the bathroom was small. We were on the second floor in the front on the veranda where we had coffee each morning and my wife (who gets up very early in the am) read the paper or a book out there. I never made it to the continential breakfast because we went out for breakfast every morning. We did have coffee each morning which was convenient.
The girl at the front desk really helped us when we were trying to find the scooner to go out on at sunset. We could not find the dock and she kept calling around and finally found it for us, called a cab and got us there before the boat went out. One of the best things we ever did in Key West. Conch Chowder and drinks (wine or soft drinks) included in the fare. Got some great pics.
Saturday and Sunday afternoon were very hot and we went swimming in the pool. Met some very nice people who offered us drinks and treated us as part of the gang. Really enjoyed the pool, not big but adequate.
The room was small but remember you don't go to Key West to stay in the room. It was clean and comfortable and even though we were in the front, being on the second floor, the traffic did not bother us. Since this was a holliday weekend, Key West was packed. The hotel staff helped any time we needed help. We felt very secure at this place.
We enjoyed ourselves so much, we have already booked reservations at the Chelsea House for this (2008) Memorial Day weekend.
