“Okay - But Not The Best Hampton Inn I've Stayed At”

My occupation has me traveling every week. Therefore, I stay in a different hotel every week; always in a smoking room.

Overall, this is an 'okay' place; not the worst room I've ever had, but certainly not the best either. I was there for 5 nights and had to request a blanket 4 times...finally received one the last night. Additionally, the TV didn't work the first night (they fixed it for the second night), no ice bucket, and it seems my desk was missing. Whether true or not, I got the feeling this was the room they took stuff out of when another room needed a replacement item.

I stay nearly exclusively at Hilton properties (Diamond VIP Status) and the cleanliness of this room was lacking; dirty shower curtain, un-vacuumed areas of the room, windows you could barely see out of due to all the grime on their exterior, and stained towels.

The staff was also lacking...acted as if they didn't care if I was there or not.

I was supposed to stay here next week as well. However, I canceled my reservation and booked a room at the Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim/Garden Grove (right next door - for ten dollars more per night)...I'll review it as well.

We spent 5 nights at this property and had a wonderful stay. The property is very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was typical of the chain but well stocked with a different hot item all 5 mornings. Our room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We had the king suite with bunkbeds and our kids loved having the real beds instead of the usual sleeper sofa. This hotel is not an easy walk to Disney but we didn't expect to walk anyway as we always had something else to do in the evening so we drove. Parking is plentiful and the property seems safe and secure and was well lighted. The business area was in the open and was often in use by some kids playing internet computer games. We would definately stay here again if we came back to this area.

we booked our trip through aaa. we had a wonderful experience. The beds were SUPER COMFY. after a long day at the park it was just what the dr. ordered. The hotel was being renovated so the pool was closed. that was not biggie for us though.. we had a packed schedule with character dinners and breakfasts and had not really planned on using the pool. So i cannot comment on the pool. (sorry)

As for the staff. we found them to be friendly and helpful. the breakfast were great. Filled our bellies for a long day at the park.

WE were at disney 3 full days and we did the halloween trick or treat. (that was great) i did a full review in the anaheim room about that.

anyway all in all .. great trip great stay .. we would definately stay at this property again. i actually recomened it to a friend and she is booked for march.

“Absolutely no complaints”

Just got back from a 4-night stay at the Hampton Inn Garden Grove and once again, my husband and I were more than satisfied with our Hampton experience. We try to stay at a Hampton Inn whenever we travel, because we have found that they provide much better than average service and ammenities for the price. This visit was no exception. We checked in quite late after a long drive, and the young lady at the front desk was very efficient and courteous. Our room requests (upper floor, Disney view) were all fulfilled, despite our late check in, and we were tucked in and dreaming within a half hour of arrival. In the mornings, breakfast was fresh and plentiful, and the variety was nice (sausage, ham, eggs, waffles, cereals, fruit, yogurt, etc.). Our room was clean, beds were REALLY comfortable, bathroom was spacious - even the countertops - and the in-room coffee was actually drinkable, unlike the coffee at other chains we've been to. The pool was open, available, and uncrowded when we came back to Disney at mid-day for a break. The only complaint we have about our trip has nothing to do with the hotel - we bought 3-day passes for the Anaheim Resort Transit bus and found it to be late most of the time. More than once we waited approximately 45 minutes for a bus that was supposed to run every 20 minutes. Frustrating, but not a trip-killer. All in all, this was a great experience and we will be back. Thanks, Hampton!

“there are plenty of others to chose from......”

Booked through AAA travel. Our 6th trip to DLand.

After a 7 hour drive to Anaheim with children in tow...we were ready for a nap. We arrived to our hotel at 2:30 p.m. We hauled ourselves up to the front desk and were told that our room would not be ready until 3:00. The front desk lady told us to "go to Disneyland".....not amused I told her that we would wait for 30 minute check in and be back at 3:00, we were tired and needed a place to rest. We returned at 3:15, the lady did not recognize us, or was pretending that she never saw us before, stating again, our room was not ready. She then went into full details as to why the staff was overwhelmed etc...I really didnt care, and told her that we needed a place to rest...magically our room popped up as being ready. At the same time there was a man yelling that he was mad at being put in a smoking room, and a lady walked up behind us complaining that the pull was nasty and had plastic floating in it...the front desk lady told her that they didnt have time to clean right now!

We were told that we had a suite, with a full refrig, couch and two queen beds. We were greeted with a pint sized refrig, two full beds and a chair in the front room. I had to call downstairs 3 times for delivery of the pull out beds. Finally the beds came up, and 2 of the 3 beds were basically springs covered with toilet paper sheets...poor kids, we were so tired that we just piled pillows up on the beds, called down for another bed to be sent up and fell asleep...the other pull outs were never delievered, we just gave up.

The pool was o.k. very small for such a large hotel. There was a small spa, and a 1 ft wading pool....however as mentioned above, it was yucky looking the first day, so we didnt use it...the second day it appeared to have been cleaned, so I let the kids get in. There were no towels, but they were delivered quickly when asked for them.

The best part of this hotel was the breakfast which was served from 6-10, making it easy to make your early entry on a full stomach. Two hot items each day a different menu, along with bagels, pb, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, mufffins and pastries. We would each grab a "to go" bag on the way out and use that as our mid afternoon treat at Dland.

The ART picks you up right across the parking lot in front of embassy suites, it is about a 15 min wait between busses, and in the am they sent a big bus to get everyone waiting. I recommend using the ART, unless you want to add an extra 1.5 mile walk each way to main gate of DLAND.

The room was big, nice sheets and blankets, breakfast nice, pool ok...service was aweful, and that can make a good thing, not so good.

We will not return to Hampton Inn and Suites, there are many choices in this area, you would think that one would make sure that their service would be their trademark.

I suggest Anabella if you are looking for a beautiful room, great service and closer to park...just get them at their value season for better rates.
