We stayed 3 nights in one of the villas, and we were simply overwhelmed by the quality of the place and the level of service.

The unit was huge (1600 sq ft) with 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. Everything was spic and span as one would expect from a Four Seasons. The pool and gym are adjacent to each other, so you can work out while still keeping an eye on your kids. It's ingenius. The pool/gym staff are extremely attentive.

The food at the golf course was excellent, and ditto for service. During the summer, they have day camp for the kids (free for the villa renters but not for the hotel), but lunch at camp is $20/kid. Our daughter only went for half a day, and she really enjoyed it.

Here is the only flaw I found for this place: It is too far away from anything. On the other hand, it's a great place to escape from civilization.

We just retruned from 3 nights at the Four Seasons Aviara. We actually stayed with my brother at their Villa, but got the chance to explore the resort grounds. The pools are amazing and the service is unmatched. The property is abosulutely beautiful! Plus they had non-stop activities for the kids. From cookie decorating classes to making s'mores by the camp fire. Our kids had a blast. One of our favorit parts of the stay was the bath products. They were incredible! We can't wait to go back.

My husband, son and I recently stayed at the FS and loved it! They are so good to kids. They let them pick a toy at check in. We got to the room and there was a stuffed frog, sponges spelling out his name, and a welcome chocolate plate with candies, lollipop etc. There is also a really nice kids club (we didnt even use, but it's free for guests), a nice game room with video games, foosball, air hockey, ping pong, pool etc. Nice pool area for families, but they also have an adults only pool with cabanas too.

The staff were very friendly and professional. The concierge and bellman (Jason was especially nice), were helpful when asking directions for area attractions (Legoland) and even for places such as grocery store for milk for my little one, and casual restaurants etc. We ordered room service one evening and the attendant took our special orders without question and they even comped my chocolate cake as they knew it was my birthday!

At first, I thought the location was a bit odd, but it's just a few minutes off the freeway, so getting around was easy. San Diego only took about 20-25minutes (non rush hour) and Legoland is less than 10 minutes from the hotel. It is the perfect theme park for kids under 12. We loved it too!

We spent two nights at the FS Aviara. The property is tucked into a residential area in North San Diego/Carlsbad. The landscaping is extremely lush and absolutely beautiful. The lobby is stunning, the views through the back wall of windows is fabulous. Complimentary tea and lemonade is offered in the lobby during the day.

Check in was fast and efficient. We booked a garden view room and it was nice sized with a very comfortable king bed (wonderful pillows), desk, couch, chest of drawers, 42" flat screen TV, large lighted closet and a very larg lux bath with seperate shower and soaking tub as well as a seperate WC. Products were excellent - L'Occitane Verbena. Large sliding door led to a balcony with two teak lounge chairs and table. Lush landscaping aorund the patio provided a level of privacy from other guests. Overall a very comfortable room.

The property has two pools - one geared for families with children and a second (with amazing views) for adults/quiet. Service to pool was quick and food was very good (chicken pesto sandwich and the best fries we have had in a long time).

Lobby service left quite a bit to be desired. We waited for more than 45 minutes for service before going to the bar to ask for a server. We experienced poor service there on both nights.

We ordered room service on one evening and it was fast, hot and very tasty.

As others have said, it is a bit out of things but that is what we wanted...a quick get away, a few days to lounge pool side , read and relax.

We did not try the spa however other guests spoke highly of the services.

Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and the rate of $260 per night was very reasonable for this FS.
