My husband and I stayed at the Tribeca Apart Hotel in Buenos Aires for 3 nights in March of 2007. We arrived at 9:30 in the morning and were pleased and surprised to be shown to our room at that hour. They also allowed us to remain in our room after the check out time on our third day.
The staff speaks a little English and we managed just fine with our "broken Spanish" and their "broken English" . All were friendly and helpful.
The building itself is delightful. The styling is very unusual since it is a refurbished office building. All doors open onto an interior courtyard. The rooms are huge and the ceilings, doors, and windows are very high. Decor is minimal. Beds were comfortable and the A/C worked well.
Although it is billed as an apartment hotel, there are no cooking supplies, dishes, silverware, etc, in the kitchen area. There is only a microwave and a small mini-bar type tridge. Bring your own stuff if you plan to do your own cooking. There is a small market directly across the street.
The included breakfast was very good and the best part of the breakfast room was a nook with a computer for FREE internet service available any time.
Although the neighborhood is run down, the Avenida de Mayo is only two blocks away. We found the location to be very central.
Don't stay here if you like 5 star hotels. DO stay here if you'd like to try something different and unique.
