My 18-yr-old niece and I stayed here for several nights following a trip to Antarctica. I lived in Buenos Aires for three years and know the city well, but this was my first experience in a hotel there! We had small but perfectly adequate rooms and bathrooms - we did not plan to spend more time than the minimum essential in our rooms. The breakfast choices were fine (fruit, breads, cheeses, etc; if you insist on bacon and eggs, however, you need to stay in a US-style hotel). Wi-Fi was available in the public rooms downstairs and there was a computer available as well. I enjoyed looking at the art on the walls and only the realization that there was no more space on my own walls kept me from going home with a painting or two. Staff spoke excellent English for those who needed it. The location is super, just a short walk to Avenida Santa Fe and its array of shops, including one of the most gorgeous bookstores in the world, and plenty of restaurants and cafés.

I booked via email and the staff were very responsive. I would absolutely stay here again, and expect to!

“Very nice stay”

The Art Hotel was my choice for my honeymoon hotel in Buenos Aires and we couldn't have been happier with our pick.

From the moment we arrived everyone was very friendly and attentive to all our needs.

Our room was just how it looked on their website, clean, comfortable and charming.

The neighborhood is nice and quiet, but only a few blocks from Avenida Santa Fe which has dozens of shops, restaurants, etc. and within walking distance to many tourist attractions including Recoleta Cemetery(Cementerio de la Recoleta) and just a short taxi ride to other major sites.

An additional nice touch is the hotel's dining area/art gallery. Every morning we had a nice breakfast surrounded by works of art by local artists hanging on the walls.

Looking back, we really enjoyed our stay at The Art Hotel and would go back again any time.

“Enjoyed the Art Hotel”

Art Hotel- Buenos Aires

Excellent value for the money. A clean, safe hotel with a lot of personality. Very nice breakfast. Staff was great, always above & beyond to help you. Two computers for free internet in the lobby were very much appreciated.
Rooms are small, but the hotel is upfront about this on their web sight. Rooms do have clean cement floors and cage closets which some people may not care for, but at least the hotel has some personality, and for the price it is a fun place to stay.
Some details such as water stained canopy over the bed and a wall crack need to be "seen" by the maintenance staff. Older guests should note the tubs are sloped on the side, making taking a shower a bit dangerous for slipping and falling.
The roof deck would have been a nice place to have a glass of wine but it was to cold during our stay. Only 1 uncomfortable wicker chair in the room to sit.

Would recommend this hotel and would stay here again for sure.

“Lovely Hotel, Great Value and Location”

Art Hotel- Buenos Aires

5 of 5 stars
rochester, new york

Just got back from Buenos Aires a couple of days ago. I stayed in a small, lovely boutique hotel (Art Hotel) which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The hotel is located in a great central area (Recoleta) and had plenty of shops, restaurants, banks, etc. all within walking distance to it.

I stayed in a "small and cozy" room which had two single beds in it. It reminded me of a European style hotel, though the room itself was larger than most of the ones I have experienced in various parts of Europe. The room was just the right size for two people. Unless you travel with huge pieces of luggage, there was adequate enough space for two people to move about the room. The room included a mini bar, refrig and a small (10/12" television), a small closet and bathroom. I do admit that the shower/bath was a little smaller than in a standard cabin on a cruise ship. No room to move about. The room was very clean with modern furniture in it. At first I thought that the bathroom floor was a little grungy but soon realized that it was simply the way the cement flooring looked. The housekeeper came in every day and cleaned thoroughly, including giving me new sheets and pillow cases. The only issue I had was that the air conditioner was not working. Both myself and the housekeeper tried to get it to work without success. I did not pursue it since it was really only the one night that it was warm enough to warrant it.

The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They went way out of their way to assist me in any way they could...including ordering a pizza for me one night when I decided to dine in. The price of the hotel includes breakfast which was very good. The breakfast included at least two kinds of freshly squeezed juices (delicious), breads, fruits, cereal, yogurt, quail eggs, cheese and ham slices.

The hotel actually has a small art gallary on the first floor of the hotel. It is a nice collection of paintings, I believe that were done by local artists. The lobby area has massive leather furniture which is very comfortable. There were always fresh, lovely flowers about the place which made the place even more pleasant. The hotel also offerred free use of two computers as well which I appreciated since I did use them more than once.

The area was very safe and I had no problem walking around by myself (a woman) even after dark.

If / When I go back to Buenos Aires, I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is great its located in Recoleta and Barrio Norte. The hotel is in an older building with modern upgrades inside. The place is very secure you will get buzzed in. The hotel has a lovely art gallery on the first floor. The room featured a balcony, I had the small and cozy and was completely satisfied with the size, granted its a bit smaller but this really was not an issue, there was a nice closed to neatly place your close, also included a small TV which had CNN, BBC and several other english language options also Italian,French, and German channels. The shower was great and breakfast was delicious included fresh fruits, toast and pastries. The neighborhood is very nice you will see dog walkers walking pure breed dogs and very well dressed people walking down the street. The Hotel is walking distance from Santa Fe street that has Cafe's, stores and restaurants also very close is the SUBTE subway station. Many people recommend PALERMO but I think that area is overrated and many of those hotels are not even close to the Subway which is not that great. Stay here its very nice.
