“great value, great rooms, great breakfast, great staff!”

NH Latino

If you are looking for a good value but still want a classy place, NH Latino is your hotel! We were able to get rooms at $88 USD, which is a fantastic deal, even for Buenos Aires, in my opinion. The rooms can be more expensive, however.

The lobby is nice, with a small bar off to the side which closes early by BsAs standards (11 pm or midnight). There are 2 internet computers available in the lobby.

The staff was always very helpful. They spoke some English, but after hours you're better off in Spanish. They accomodated late check outs, luggage storage, etc., with no problems. Friendly for the most part, but so was almost everyone in Argentina. One slip: the window cleaner outside our window at 8 am on a Saturday morning.

The rooms are very nice. I don't stay at fancy-schmancy hotels, so this was nicer than most places I've been at. Hardwood floors and a fair amount of modernist wood decor. The bed was a king and comfortably firm.

Food: a very nice morning breakfast buffet. Fresh-squeezed juice (which is standard in Argentina) along with some pastries, baked goods, eggs, meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, cereals, etc. We also ordered room service (hint: room service in Argentina is an absolute steal) and were very pleased with the salad, not to mention the service.

Location: this is the one area that will not be for everyone. As another reviewer wrote, it is a loud, congested area. The hotel does face a very busy street corner, and you may need to wear earplugs (I often do anyway, so it didn't impact me). On the other hand, keep in mind that BsAs was recently voted the 4th loudest city in the entire world, so unless you want to get out of the central area (Retiro, Congresso, Microcentro, etc), your hotel will be exposed to some noises. The area is safe, but you're definitely 'in the city' here, and there is a fair amount of trash, broken sidewalks, etc., on the nearby side streets, as is typical for BsAs unless you are in Puerto Madero or a few other select areas. Note that I never felt unsafe near the hotel, but I have a pretty high threshold for that kind of stuff.

In summary, if you can get a room here for under $100 USD per night for 2 people with breakfast, and you want to be IN the city where all the action is, you'll be happy at the NH Latino. On the other hand, if you want a private Zen sanctuary and don't want to be too close to the dirt, the noise, and the people of BsAs, and in particular if you'd rather not see the real effects a 70% currency devaluation can have on a country, you'd be better off in Puerto Madero where it feels like you're in Santa Monica or Miami or Houston.

My wife and I spent 4 nights at the NH Latino with our 16yo daughter. Great rooms and very friendly staff. The location is close to Florida & LaValle Street (shopping area). The breakfast buffet was good, housekeeping excellent, and nearby restaurants were nice. Try Las Lilas restaurant while in BA. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

“Be careful with the location”

Stayed four to five nights at the NH Latino, in between trips to other parts of Argentina and Uruguay.

Picked this hotel on the basis of the reviews, but decided to find a different hotel for the 8 last days of our stay in Buenos Aires. This was mainly due to the location, which is far too nosy and plagued by very heavy and polluting traffic. The hotel is very central for Microcentro, but be careful as this is definitely NOT the most charming area in BA. The hotel is located on the corner of a very busy intersection and all rooms face the street. The streets next to the hotel are mostly narrow and experience very heavy traffic with old buses and cars polluting profusely. We could not avoid coming back to the hotel room with a headache after walking through the hot and noisy, polluted streets and met many others who felt the same.

Plusses are good sized rooms and the best buffet breakfast of our 3 week stay in the country. There are also 2 computers with free internet access in the lobby, although these are often very busy.

“An Outstanding Hotel”

My Partner and I stayed at the NH Latino for a week in Buenos Aires. We were extremely pleased with the hotel, and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The central location of the NH Latino worked very well for us. It was in a business district called Microcentro, and it was a step away from the subway. People who are looking for a more residential, side- street feel may want to stay at the NH Jousten in the Recoletta. Our room was great. The room had a wonderfully comfy king size bed and the decor was tastefully done in a modern style. The only drawbacks to the room were the lack of a view and traffic noise during the day (at night, though, it was very quiet.) The service was great; everyone at the front desk was very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts in the morning were unbelievably good - complete with fresh squeezed juices, tortilla espanola, fresh fruit, delicious chocolate goodies, and much much more. The NH Latino also had a nice gym on the top floor and internet access in the lobby, which we found very helpful during our stay. To top it all off, we got a superb price at this hotel on the internet - $85 a night with breakfast included. If you should decide to stay here, you won't be disappointed.

Our last night in Argentina was spent sleeping at the NH Latino. Our room was a huge half-circle overlooking the obelisk - and for about $100 US dollars! The room was amazing, and the staff was efficient and helpful. The neighborhood is a bit busy outside, so try the Jousten if that's not your thing.
