“A great hotel for the money”

I stayed at this hotel from March 2, 08 until March 6th. I am a travel agent and spend a great deal of time in hotels and this hotel was a gem in a beautiful, safe neighborhood. It was recommended to me by a friend who lives in Uroguay and she had stayed there. The reception desk was very helpful in arranging tours, tango shows, etc. They spoke perfect English. We ate lunch at the hotel restaurant which was frequented by the local business crowd. The menu was fine and the prices were very reasonsonable. 20.00 US for lunch with beer. The room we had was quite large with a queen size bed, full sofa, end tables, wardrobe closet and a desk. The bathroom shower was to die for. Full of power and hot water. It was new and fully tiled with a hairdryer and bathrobes. We paid $110.00 per night. The breakfast buffet was adequate with fresh fruit daily, meats, scrambled eggs, bacon sausage, yogurts and cereal, croissants and toasts. I would stay here again and would recommend it. Florida street was a short cab ride away. Taxis are very inexpensive in BA. No ride ever costs us more than 4.00.

“Enoyed our stay”

We spent 3 nights here in December 2007. Our room was very comfortable, quiet and spacious. Breakfast which was included in the room rate was very good; lots of choices and pleasant breakfast room.
We had dinner one night in the restaurant on premises and it was very good also.
Staff were helpful professionals. Location in the Recoleta district was very convenient.

“Deceptive service”

I stayed at the Bel Air Hotel in Buenos Aires. Any association with the Bel Air Hotel in Los Angeles you may forget right now. At first we were thrilled with having a clean, newly refurbished hotel in the Recoleta area that was affordable. Then we found out that three people had called and left messages with the front desk for us, and they never told us. Little by little we found that they try to cut costs anyway they can. The food at breakfast was the cheapest quality. Part of our family comes from that area so we know this for a fact. We ordered a private car to take us to a friends house and the just called a taxi and made excuses that they are all the same (THEY ARE NOT). Compared to some of the dives that you find in B.A. this is a welcome improvement, but the service and management is not up to the refurbishment.

“Disability & excellent hotel in Recoleta district”

We had the occasion to stay in a hotel in Recoleta district for two separate nights. Disabled access is important to us. Previously visited the hotel to check the accessibilty issues and was immediately a shown room suitable for disabled people - bathroom is a "wet room", ideal for those using a wheelchair. These are superior grade rooms but at standard room prices. Am unsure of the difference internally, but plenty of space and we even had a balcony (on the 6th floor) looking out of the street. The room and hotel are quiet and extremely comfortable. It is rated a 3 star but I would suggest it is a 4 star.
Staff extremely helpful; breakfast was a plentiful and varied buffet; we ate in the restaurant, which being at the front of the building is also patronised by non-residents (and the fact that it is so patronised recommends it in an area where there are very many high quality restaurants). Good menu & food & wine. Reasonable price.
Boutique style hotel. Good price (389 pesos - less than 100 euro for B&B for 2) in probably the most upmarket district in Buenos Aires (well, I think Recoleta is better than Palermo anyway!). Recommended.

“Horrible service! Overpriced.”

Where do I start:
1. Asked for two non-smoking rooms, was put in a stinky smoking one. When asked for change: was told that no rooms were available and suggested to wait until tomorrow.
2. When the towels were not changed in 2 days I called downstairs and was told that they would bring some right away: never happened. So I just took some from my friends room.
3. They ordered cab for us to go to airport: we gave the girl the exact name of the airport. Guess what! They took us to a different airport (both drivers) and refused to take us back to the correct one without pay. We almost missed the flight to Iguazu because of wonderful service at BelAir.
4. Overpriced!!! Stay at Ayres or Home for better atmosphere and staff.
