I was planning to stay at this hotel for 3 nights, but I decided to leave and stayed just one.
Before I start writing, I have to say that it was my fault to choose such a classical, reinascentist-like hotel when my style is more minimalist and modern. Said so, I comment the following:
PROS:
- location: in the middle of everything (Recoleta, Santa Fe street, shops, etc). Safe area and nice to walk around and shop. Even when it is in a crowded area, the block is quite calm.
- staff is attentive
- my bed was very good: good sommier and mattress. They said this was because my room was a renewed one.
CONS:
- I consider the decoration to be too old fashioned and quite heavy. Though, this is the style of the hotel and I should have been aware of this. However, what I find not so good is that furniture looks old and somewhat worn out. It is not that you find a "kitsch" decoration but impeccable. No. Furniture does not seem either new or original. Expect dark green walls in your room, red covers for the bed, golden picture frames, etc. Besides, the whole building is not new or renewed. Walls are a little worn out, the windows on the rooms are from the 70s at least.
- bathroom was small and old. It was not "classical": it was old. Just white, with an old jacuzzi ( I estimate, 15 years or more), not pleasant for me.
Overall, it is not unpleasant, especially if you like this kind of decoration. I felt like being installed in a not so impeccable museum.
