The Marriott is located near great shopping on Florida street downtown. The hotel is an historic restoration, but the rooms are archaic. We had a handicapped room for my wife. The toilet never did operate properly despite the maintenance man's effort. The special elevator to access the main elevator bank on the second floor was tiny and had two sets of folding doors to operate. It was nearly impossible for someone in a power chair or scooter to get into because of a steep ramp that ended just before the elevator on the first floor. We finally learned the last day of our stay that the bellman would take us around the block to enter the basement and take a freight elevator to our floor.
The staff service at this hotel is excellent, but they can do little about the structural deficiencies of he hotel.

Business serviceExcellent location, however, hotel is not a good value , must use stairs to reach the elevator OR request to sue the metal cage elevator each time you want to go or leave your room, go to restaurant or bar. The pool is closed for the season (no one told us0, the jacuzzi is a bathtub, currently w/o water and not the least bit attractive. Don't bother to request a type of room, it will NOT be available and there will be little to no concern from the staff. However, we give kudos to the consierge staff, patient and knowledgeable. The front room staff could take a few lessons. You may have to phone in a request o have your room made up. All this from a '5' star hotel, suggestion, look elsewhere and take a taxi to Florida Street until Marriott make some BIG changes!

Business serviceWell, we were originally booked at the Waldorf Hotel after a tour..but were told on the last 2 nights that they over booked...so we had to leave!!!!
We were tired, and desperately wanted a nice room in the same location as the Waldorf, so we could be near other people we had met on the tour.
It was Easter weekend, so we were concerned that we would not be able to find a hotel...But we walked right into the Marriott Plaza, and were given a room for 200.00 per night, including breakfast!!!
That was alot more than the rate at the Waldorf, but we were so relieved that we found a room, that we went and got our luggage and checked in.
Our room was huge (compared to any other hotel we stayed at in Argentina), and clean with a great bed with lotsa pillows...We had a view of the courtyard which was fine. The bathroom was large and nicely tiled.
We didn't have a complaint at all, infact it was the nicest hotel we stayed at after almost 3 weeks in Chile and Argentina.
Breakfast was fine, and again, was better than any other breakfast we had on our trip....On Easter Sunday they brought a huge chocolate Easter Egg to our room..which was a nice surprise.
Maybe its' just me...but i loved the hotel....Staff was totally helpful and friendly, and when out of there way to make dinner reservations and helped us plan our day itineraries.
I guess it all depends on what u are expecting....but we were just darn happy to get a room and see the sites of Buenos Aires and have a nice comfy hotel to come back to!!!
I would definately stay there again and loved the location.

Business serviceThe Marriott Plaza is well located in downtown Buenos Aires, on San Martin Square and adjoining Florida Street, one of the main shopping malls. It is a fine old facility which has been modernized, but it is still an old facility. The rooms were clean, everything worked.
Unfortunately we booked through a Princess cruise and it was an absolute goat-rope trying to get checked in; took 6 hours to get our bags, which were delivered to the hotel with us. Princess service was extremely poor.
Concierge steered us to an all-day excursion to an estancia on the Pampas, which turned out to be one of the highlights of our holiday. Cabs are plentiful and cheap, best way to get around BA.
