We had actually booked a different resort, since we do a lot of research into where we're staying normally. This place was dropped on us at the last minute and we had no choice in going there.
From the moment we arrived we could tell it was bad news.
The staff can hardly speak a word of English, and so asking if the 'luxury studio apartment' we'd been promised was what we were getting, was difficult to say the least.
After having trouble finding us, we were eventually taken to our room on a golf buggy!
The resort is too big, with very little by the way of iminities. It takes forever to walk to the restaurant and bar. One of the bars was never open.
As for shops, they have a half-decent supermarket, an internet cafe, a chemist and about half a dozen hairdressers! So you're OK if you want to be 'coiffured'!
They have a zoo with no animals (maybe they all escaped and were disguised as staff?).
We were all inclusive but I'm still unsure as to how they could class it as that since there were no snacks or icecream and the drinks were very limited. There was one pool bar that served drinks but they ran out quickly and never bothered replenishing stocks.
Food was dire and exactly the same every day. We ate out most of the time.
Their beach, which is a 10 min drive away, with a bus only going there twice daily, had no free drinks or snacks and the food/drinks on offer were overpriced.
Staff were ignorant and rude, and sexually harrassed female guests.
I wanted to return after 2 days but the resort rep didn't even bother getting back to me with flights, and nobody was interested as to why I wanted to leave.
Our 'luxury studio apartment' was a basic ensuite, twin room complete with cockroaches and ants, a broken lock, and a kettle but no tea/coffee/sugar.
The place is overrun with cats who constantly beg for food.
There was a man-hole outside our room where the staff disappeared down quite frequently. The hole was left wide open, with no warning signs or barriers erected. How some small child has not ended up down it is beyond me. Mind you, it's a new complex - give it time.
It's really poorly lit on a night time with hardly any signage telling you where anything is. It took us almost an hour to find the restaurant on our first night, in the pitch dark. The map they give you is worse than useless.
Do yourselves a favour, spend a little more and stay at a Hilton or Radison. This place is the pits.

“Poor Delta”

Delta Sharm Resort

2 of 5 stars
EDINBURGH

Just back from 10 nights in Delta Sharm most definately not a 4 star complex not even close! we were in a one bed suite it was ok apart from horrible stench from drains, managements resolve to this was to send a guy next day with an aerosol,(wowee) wasted our time complaining in the first place as you have to stay in your apartment till they arrive and thats forever (be warned)
the pools & gardens are nice but the bars are hopelessly managed, our pool bar ran out of stock on a couple of occasions meaning the barman (their is only one at each bar) had to walk 10 mins there and back to the main bar to replenish stock if it was available (carried back by hand in bags) meaning bar was closed while he was gone. the drinks are always warm as the
fridges including your room are warm all the time.

the food is seldom varied but always cold , restaurant table and chairs are old with filthy ill fitting cushions on chairs, they have taken delivery of some new chairs which are available but they have,nt even took the trouble to strip protective polythene off them properly, the dining areas extremely shabby.

All-inclusive package not worth the money, if considering coming to this complex self catering would be your better option.

This was our third visit to Sharm each of our other visits were great but this was a real let down, we would not recommend
this complex to anyone, but we will come back to Sharm el sheikh

just got back from our stay at the delta sharm we stayed for a week in a one bedroom apartment all inclusive. we paid less than 550 for the 2 of us and were not expecting anything special especially for the money we paid as we only wanted a cheap sunshine gettaway and i have to say what a great surprise we got when we arrived. the place looks like some big type of settement built in probably the best location in sharm only 15 minutes from the airport and 5mins to the center of naema bay with its large number of restaurants, shops and bars. when we arrived we were and were taken to a great room which after reading some of the reviews on here we were not expecting, with it not being a privately owned one. it had all the mod cons, really nice living area, a large bedroom with big built in wardrobes and a big bed, a very nice clean bathroom, a balconey. fully working air con and over 50 tv channels. The rooms were tastefully decorated and very very clean and were cleaned to a high standard every day. there are around 12/13 pools in the complex but only around 6/7 are open but believe me is enough, there a plenty of sun loungers so there is no problem with finding somewhere to relax for the day, the grounds are well maintained with plenty of security that are very polite as are the staff. the only downside with this place is the food and the drink service. but for what we paid i will not complain about. but i would not recommend for heavy drinkers as there are served in small cups and the food is not really anything special, it is ok thou and you can survive but with all the restaurants around at such cheap prices you wont eat there every day anyway. there is also a gym and health center on site and a free shuttle service to the beach..go to the delta beach thou its much nicer. all in all his is a great place to stay. we would defo go back to the delta sharm again.

Two words, dont bother

but if your interested read on:

We arrived about 20.30, reception staff were so unhelpful gave us a map of the place, we were then taken on a golf buggy to our apartment, should have realised then it was so far away from the main part of the complex, a good ten minute walk in the heat backwards and forwards to breakfast, pool etc

We had a 2 bedded apartment, room was clean. Plug and light fittings hanging out of the wall, shower head fell apart on second day and to get it fixed meant we would have to stay in for repair so we didnt bother.

Food was awful, we ended up paying, despite being fully inclusive. Beer was warm.

Staff very unhelpful, miserable and unattentive.

No entertainment and on the one night they had a show that was rubbish and again we had to pay for food despite being all inclusive as it was a `special` event, in fact a Cuban band flown in especially.

On leaving we were accused by the hotel of putting a small chip in the tv, this was a total rip off along with the rest of Eygpt a scam to get more money. It didnt matter we had to put up with the problems in the room, they held our taxi up until the TV was paid for or matter resolved. A hotel rep went to the room with us and admitted the so called damage was laughable, but no problems it just held up our taxi to the airport.

This was my second visit to Eygpt and never again, the whole experience has put me off.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND DELTA SHARM TO EVEN PUT A DOG INTO

“Average. Lovely Garden/Pools All else Average”

Delta Sharm Resort

On arriving at the Reception the Front desk had poor English and many questions we had went unanswered. Cart to appartment which when we arrived had not been cleaned out. We had requested a Cot for 15 month old and that was not there. Eventually arrived but not suitable for Active 15 month old as he was able to climb over sides. It is all they had. I think you are better off if you can book through someone who rents out there own appartment as our one was very basic. Dirty oven. Fridge was warm. Beds were uncomfortable. Air conditioning very good. Shower was terrible. Bathroom not clean.
Grounds and pool areas were excellent. I did feel sorry for the barmen and waiters as they were getting so much grief from unhappy customers and it is not their call to give stingy Glasses of Warm beer or wine. Management should know that when it is 35 degrees and you ask for a COLD beer or wine, you require a drink that is cold and will quench your thirst. Buffet food only average. I am not fussy but there is only so much of what was served up that you can stomach. If you pay for your food it is so much better. All inclusive I think is not worth it.
Too far from nama Bay and the Beach but some people may want this especially if you are on the all inclusive package.
Had to contact reception 3 times to clean appertment and the cleaning they did was minimal. They wash the floor with a dirty smelly cloth that leaves the appartment with an awful odour.
On departure they tried to charge me for the remote control that wasn't working. It worked fine for me even if it was falling apart. Hotel transfer never turned up so just got a taxi to the airport.
Will not go back to Delts Sharm but would go back to Sharm el Shiekh.
