We had actually booked a different resort, since we do a lot of research into where we're staying normally. This place was dropped on us at the last minute and we had no choice in going there.
From the moment we arrived we could tell it was bad news.
The staff can hardly speak a word of English, and so asking if the 'luxury studio apartment' we'd been promised was what we were getting, was difficult to say the least.
After having trouble finding us, we were eventually taken to our room on a golf buggy!
The resort is too big, with very little by the way of iminities. It takes forever to walk to the restaurant and bar. One of the bars was never open.
As for shops, they have a half-decent supermarket, an internet cafe, a chemist and about half a dozen hairdressers! So you're OK if you want to be 'coiffured'!
They have a zoo with no animals (maybe they all escaped and were disguised as staff?).
We were all inclusive but I'm still unsure as to how they could class it as that since there were no snacks or icecream and the drinks were very limited. There was one pool bar that served drinks but they ran out quickly and never bothered replenishing stocks.
Food was dire and exactly the same every day. We ate out most of the time.
Their beach, which is a 10 min drive away, with a bus only going there twice daily, had no free drinks or snacks and the food/drinks on offer were overpriced.
Staff were ignorant and rude, and sexually harrassed female guests.
I wanted to return after 2 days but the resort rep didn't even bother getting back to me with flights, and nobody was interested as to why I wanted to leave.
Our 'luxury studio apartment' was a basic ensuite, twin room complete with cockroaches and ants, a broken lock, and a kettle but no tea/coffee/sugar.
The place is overrun with cats who constantly beg for food.
There was a man-hole outside our room where the staff disappeared down quite frequently. The hole was left wide open, with no warning signs or barriers erected. How some small child has not ended up down it is beyond me. Mind you, it's a new complex - give it time.
It's really poorly lit on a night time with hardly any signage telling you where anything is. It took us almost an hour to find the restaurant on our first night, in the pitch dark. The map they give you is worse than useless.
Do yourselves a favour, spend a little more and stay at a Hilton or Radison. This place is the pits.
