“Lovely Hotel - Nice Relaxing Holiday”

Creative Mexicana Sharm Resort

I have just returned from an all inclusive week stay at the Mexicana with my boyfriend. Upon arrival we experienced a problem with the fact that the hotel was overbooked and they didn't seem to have a room for us. We were told we had been upgraded to their sister hotel; However I was not overly happy about this and insisted that they sorted a room out for us - as afterall that is where we specifically had booked to stay! This was really quickly sorted for us and they were really nice about it. We were upgraded and given a suite instead of a normal room which was great becuase we had a livingroom and kitchen!!! And it came in handy when I became ill and needed to just lay about watching films on the sofa.........

I was perhaps slightly reluctant after reading the reviews about the food - but in all honesty the only real problem is that it is rather bland and slightly repetitive! Breakfast is by far the best meal of the day - egss/omlettes cooked in front of you! A big selection of pasteries and some other random hot food! Lunch and dinner tended to be rather similar; and I found myself having pasta on several evenings! My boyfriend however is slightly more adventurous and had a bit of everything! But even he, who eats anything, got a little bored of it!! The other restaurants in the hotel are nice - and SO cheap! £6 and you get a three course meal and drink! The alcohol available (AI) is good, and you can drink until 11pm which suited us fine! Beer was nice, and so was the wine!

The pools the hotel itself and the staff are amazing! Very friendly and made you feel comfortable. Always happy to do anything you ask! The only problem we found is that as we are slightly lazy and never out of bed before 9 we never got a sunbed at either pool! However, on the last day we discovered that this is because people tip the pool man and he saves sunbeds! Well worth it I reckon!! But if thats not for you, you tend to be able to get sunbeds after lunch anyway as it gets really hot and people go in!!! Hotel was beautiful and well kept - very pretty! Cleaner was lovely - always very chatty and left flowers on the bed each day!

We didn't go to the beaches or make our planned excursion to Cairo because we both became ill! I'm not going to specifically blame the food or anything like that because in countries like Egypt anything could be to blame! We drank bottled water the whole time and were careful about sald etc! But still became ill, my boyfriend was ill for about a day! I however suffered for three!!! My biggest advice is make sure you take medication for things like that to settle your stomach and replace lost salts! Very important as it was 35 degrees the whole week!

The entertainment is basic with two event nights - bellydancing and karoke! Fun and funny best describe! Definitely dont go here on a girly or lad holiday - you will get bored! It's first and foremost a couples hotel!

To be blunt - this is a nice hotel - very relaxing - lovely staff! But don't go all inclusive its not really worth it as food and drink is so cheap out there anyway you may aswell go B&B then explore some nice places to eat in the evening! Definitley a place for couples who are just happy to lounge about together!!!

“Nice Hotel but the Food Was Not Up To Scratch”

Creative Mexicana Sharm Resort

Apr 21, 2008

My husband and I stayed here in celebration of our 1st Anniversary for 7 days. We got a lovely room which was a stone's throw away to the pool and main restaurant. The room was spacious, well decorated and housekeeping was excellent. The food was less to be desired as it was quite bland and mainly the same was on the menu every night and morning. There was a bit of a communication problem with Front Office Staff as on a few occasions we were left waiting. Though not very close to the main beach of Naama Bay there were free shuttle service to their 2 private beaches and a night shuttle to Naama Bay. There are also quite a few little shops close to the hotel and taxis pass regularly around the hotel. We are happy that we went half board and other than the food had an enjoyable stay.

“Ignore The Rest We Loved The Mexicana!”

Myself and my boyfriend booked to stay in the mexicana hotel bed and breakfast for 10 days in january. it was our first time in egypt and we really enjoyed it.

the price for accomdation and what we got was amazing. we decided to only go bed and breakfast as we knew we wanted to go out at nights and during the day for meals and excursions so didnt see the point in going all inclusive. i am glad that we did and would recommend this to anyone else that is staying at the hotel. i can see why people would go all inclusive as it is at such a good price but i can also understand why they would be quite disappointed. i felt that egypt was a place we wanted to explore and sample the culture and we couldnt really do that by eating in the hotel every night. i would also agree with the others that the food was only mediocre and would get a bit tiring after 2 weeks. dont let this put you off though, the breakfast is good and there are barbeques and pizzas for lunch so you will not starve. i would recommend saving a bit of money by going bed and breakfast and spending that money on nights out in naama bay and various restaraunts.

the grounds and accomodation at the mexicana are absolutly beautiful. they are extremely well kept, we had a room/apartment next to the big pool which was lovely. it was extremely well kept, cleaned to a high standard every day.

there are several restaruants/bars in the hotel. i must admit the food in the hotel isnt up to much but it is not as "disguisting" as people described. in the morning they make fresh pancakes, waffles and omlettes infront of you, not to mention the rest. we used a few of the other restaraunts in the complex, they are ok for lunch and snacks but not the best. if you go into naama bay at night there are some lovely places to eat and the staff at the hotel will be happy to recommend eateries.

we didnt make it to the resorts beaches as it was quite windy, however the hotels taxi service is a must as the locals tend to bump up the prices on the taxis.

we also went on several excursions such as quad biking through the desert and scuba diving which i would deffinetly recommend! the staff at the hotel are all lovely and willling to help in any way they can.

we will definetly be returning to the mexicana and hope that bad stories wont put you off too much.

ps watch out at five o'clock at night, they look after the grounds so well that they spray bug stuff each night which stinks! so watch out for the fumigation!!

“Fantastic - would definately go back!”

Creative Mexicana Sharm Resort

Me and my boyfriend went for a week, after reading reviews on here before we went we decided to go B&B and it was the best decision we could of made. We were upgraded to a king room on arrival (free of charge), the room was huge, very clean, grounds were very well maintained, staff were very helpful. We didn't make it up in time for the breakfast but as far as the hotel and staff go we cant fault it for what it was offering.

The distance was fine, only 25 Egyptian pounts for a cab into Naama bay (£2.50 english), plenty of restaurants and bars on offer. Naama bay is the best beach, sharks bay is said to be the best one but we went there and left after 15 minutes, its stoney, not a lot there and quite a long drive.

In a nut shell, really do recommend the Mexicana for B&B, the all inclusive option did look very limited and quite boring.

Oh, and one other thing, the sunbeds round both pools seem to go really quickly, we had to put towels down before 6am if we wanted to get any beds so set your alarms!!

“Things Are Not What They Seem”

Pretty Hotel, well maintained. Went all-inclusive, food was ok, but not great, if you are vegetarian I strongly advise you don't go all inclusive as theres not much selection. The awful plastic glasses that I was given drinks in made me feel inferior to the other guests that were not all inclusive. On the final day was digusted as I was not allowed a glass of water for lunch at 1pm as my all inclusive supposedly finished at 12. Staff were friendly, sometimes a little too much, but did enjoy the karaoke night and the belly dancer.
