I stayed at the Sunrise Island Garden with my mum and 3 children in December 2007. We loved it so much so we went again in april 2008. We came home 4 days ago and we have just booked again for December 2008 (we would have gone again in August but we felt that the weather might be too hot for the kids). As soon as we got to the hotel, we were completely overwhelmed by the welcome we got. Everybody remembered us and welcomed us "back home". The service, food, cleanliness, hospitality is absolutely fantastic and we recommend this hotel for everyone, young and old. My mum has some difficulty in walking and ALL the staff treated her with such care(as if she were their mum!) We have done a lot of travelling and I can honestly rate the whole sunrise island garden experience as a 5* plus. If anyone is going to Sharm el Sheikh then Sunrise Island Garden is a must!

Party of 8 stayed at the garden view for 2 weeks, ranging from 9yrs to 60+. We all thoroughly enjoyed are stay, the weather was great and the holiday extremely relaxing. If you show the staff the respect they deserve you get it back ten fold, we couldn,t fault them, every single member of staff were happy, friendly and extremely helpful (Especially the pool bar staff, on site photographers & Diving Centre staff ). On one occasion late evening I asked one member of staff where the nearer chemist was as I wanted eye drops for my son, without hesitation he said he would go to the chemist and get them as he would get them cheaper than me, he returned five minutes later and refused to take any money for them. On another occasion we went to breakfast early and left the room in a mess, clothes moneys, ipods, mobile phones everywhere, when we returned the cleaner had been in and had tidied everything even the money that was left on the bed was placed on the bedside (he could of quite easily taken this thinking it was a tip) This holiday is probably the safest I have ever felt.
We did take plenty of £1.00 coins however in hinsight I think we would have been better using dollars to tip the staff every so often, this tip was always very much appreciated and went a long way.
We went into Naama Bay a couple of evenings which was nice but beware certain shopping alleys can be very intensive and un-comfortable. Believe me the eight of us can talk the talk even my son of 9 yrs but believe me this became too much at times! Most of the items we bartered for in Naama Bay you could get at the shops on the complex for pretty much the same cost.
I must admit I went out there with on open mind with regard to the Russians but within in no time I would agree they are extremely rude and ignorant. They will even go as far as pushing you out of the way to get what they want. I was also disgusted with the way they addressed the staff on occasions it was no more than a grunt (animals!!). Don’t let this spoil your holiday we just laughed it off in the end and on occasions gave a sly nudge back!!!
We flew to Cairo, booked through rep but I think ??? had the right idea as we left 4.30 in the morning came back at 9pm, but we felt too much time was wasted in the perfume and papyrus shops.
The food was fine, there was always plenty of variety and themed nights meant that there was always something different and snacks were served everyday at the pool bar from 11am to 4pm, this included chips, pizza, hot dogs, burger, toasted sandwiches, popcorn and ice cream.
Pool and pool slides were great the largest of pools wasn’t heated but this was a pleasure when the heat of the day got to you.

Just come back from the Island View and i have to say that it was definately not what we expected.
We stayed at another hotel in December 2007 ( five minute walk from Sunrise Gardens )
We arrived in the afternoon - the entrance foyer seemed ok there were not the hot towels to freshen up that we had at the other hotel, anyway we checked in and was greeted with a drink.
We were told that we had been given a really nice room.
We were taken to our room walking via the pool area - there was only one pool ( split in to four sections ) and it looked like a scene from Benidorm - people everywhere,it felt as though you were literally on top of each other.
We got to our room it felt basic but to be fair you only sleep in it, i was cross though as we have a 11 year old with us and there was only two single beds - we had to ask for another bed which we got.
The bathrooms looked tried and dirty - again we only had two towels but hey.
We did have a patio area which overlooked the pool area.
The beds and pillows were very very hard hard and uncomfortable ( not what you need for a holiday )
The restaurant food overall was very good lots of choice.
The service was not so good we asked may times for drinks and in the end we got our own from the bar.
The weather was extermely hot and drinks came warm with no ice - which got me - i asked for it ( when they had ice 0 you only got one lump which melted almost instantly.
The pool bar - we asked for water we were told that we had to buy a bottlle from the shop and then refill it using the water machines dotted round - i could not believe it an all inclusive hotel - you were told to but water.
There was an Italian restauarant which was excellent ( fantastic service, drinks served cold, your glass was topped up without asking ( this was the best service we recieved throughout our 8 day stay.
The sun came up at approx. 4.30in the morning which woke us up and in the swimming pool there was these water jets which went on at approx 5.30 every day which woke us up ( we think that these heated one section of the pool ) the other 3 sections were not heated and very cold.
The slides only opened for a couple of hours each day which at times was frustrating.
Sun beds - i got ours early so this was not a problem however if you went to pool late it was generally hit or miss as to whether or not you get one.
Not may umbrellas was told that one umbrella was meant for four people.

Pool bar guys were great - what really wound me up was that drinks were served in plastic cups ( similar to one in vending machines ) with NO ICE and these were onlt filled 3/4 so two mouthfuls and it was gone.
The pool barmen were always friendly and happy but at times service here was also very poor.

Basically if this is your first holiday to Sharm and you have never experienced an all inclusive before you would probably say it was ok but to us that has stayed before albeit in other resorts we were very dissapointed, so much so that we tried to change to the sister hotel but could not, we tried to use the pool but when they saw our beach towels ( different in clour to theirs, but bearing in mind that this was sister hotel ) were told to shoo off.

Overall we enjoyed as we were stuck there but would not go back again

Just had a week at the Sunrise Winter Gardens with my wife and 2 children and absolutely loved it

Rooms were always spotlesly clean with our cleaner coming everyday and us never knowing what towel sculpture we would find on the bed..................the kids loved it !!!

Food was fineand there was always something we liked on the bufffet and in particular the BBQ at the pool bar was exellent despite us being serenaded by all the waiters and management ho had found out it was our wedding anniversary................very embarrassing for us but great for everybody else !!!!

Service was first class and we found all the staff to be extremely friendly efficient and helpful

I really don't know what some people expectations are, but from our experiece we would reccomend this hotel and we plan to go back ourselves in October
